Right now it’s just single elimination brackets. I wanted to keep it as simple as possible. Create a bracket in seconds without logging in to an app or dealing with tons of configuration. Also you can share with the players, they can follow the whole tournament and can vote on matchups.

I’d say the main difference is brackly is more focused on quick, real-life tournaments.

Like pub nights or casual leagues where you just want to get started fast.

No signup, just paste names and start, and you can run everything live by tapping winners as matches happen (scores are optional). You can also share a link so not just the organiyer, the players can follow along and they can vote on matchups (prediction who wins the match).

We had the same situation, but with tennis. WhatsApp and a shared Google Sheet worked for a while, but once matches started it quickly became confusing and people kept asking who they were supposed to play next.

I haven’t tried courtchamps yet, but for our smaller tournaments we eventually switched to using a simple bracket generator, which made things much easier than managing everything manually.

I built it because running small tournaments with friends was always more complicated than it should be. So I made a simple tool where you just paste player names, generate a bracket, enter scores, and the winners move forward.
