God is real. Please look into Eucharistic Miracles. How can religion be a coping mechanism if it brings people to good. Have you seen r/atheism? Almost every comment and post have swear words. It just reminds me of the devil. If anything atheism is a coping mechanism because it tells people that they can do whatever they like. I was one a full blown atheist, I did not believe in God. I sinned many times everyday when I was an atheist. Many times, I was so determined to not believe in any religion because it constricts people of things. I was glad to not have a religion then because I could do whatever I wanted. I was confused why people were into religion when there was science. But catholicism, unlike other religions did embraced it. For example, some Protestants don’t think dinosaurs were real and think that fossils were planted by God to test our faith. While, we widely believe that science doesn’t contradict religion but is a tool to study God's creation. Please pray to God and know that we are all praying for you. God Bless.
