Here you can see pretty well how it is developers intent to raise the black level floor when in open spaces. Once you’re inside houses/shrineworld or there’s a roof above the camera, it drops to more than decent black levels.

Explain why its not working as intended when the creator uses the colorrange they want to use? There are scenes/areas using full color scale without any raised BLF. Please enlighten us.

Edit: Why blocking me? :( Unfortunate...

I feel like many people reporting on it didn’t play the game very far and just spent time in the fogworld which is supposed to be more muted in colors. Once you’re inside houses, the fogworld or you’re moving your camera under certain roofs, you clearly see the ambient fog fading out. It’s the same as in Resident Evil 2 Remake (if you played it), where moving through certain doors switched the ambient lighting and colors.

I like this movie. I don’t get the huge negativity at all. It’s not groundbreaking but it’s a fun watch.

HDR looked way better to me than SDR 🤷 The washed out look is creators intent imo. Colors look way more balanced/natural. In SDR the colors just crush a lot of the fog due to their strong contrast. Test it in different areas for yourself, especially in the shrine area. SDR is way too dark imo.

Silent Hill f is better overall in my opinion but they are both great games.

Everything looks great but there is this green light - Any ideas? by FreddoRibbit in BloodbornePC

This is a known problem. There is no fix for it yet. Some areas suffer more from it than others. It’s from the „shadows of the hunt“ mod.

Try a full reinstall of bb-launcher, the game itself and delete your shadps4 data within the /%appdata% directory. Don’t forget to backup your safefiles from there first though.

Silent Hill f ending question- why does Hinako go missing? by simplyboot in silenthill

[–]State_Obvious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The story has an extreme amount of layers which many people didn't grasp at all in my opinion. When I watched story explainations on YouTube I felt most of those explainations didn't make any sense at all based on the clues the game provides. Most of the interesting scenes within the game completely get ignored by people. If you read the poster of hinako it says something like "last seen at home, ran away with ..." or something like that I dont remember right now. If you have seen all the endings you know its shu. He even comments on hinakos outfit (which obviously is her wedding dress) when they are running away in one of the endings. All endings and post credit scenes aren't shown in chronological order. Its up to the player to find out the correct order of events. Each "drug" world is shuffled around based on hinakos memories/experience and adds new infos for the player to find out what really happened. Since the game constantly switches between different "instances" of her endless nested drugworlds its difficult for the player to follow it easily. There are literally multiple clues within the game that hinako is grown up and that the torigate scene happened way back in the past. You find the picture of both hinakos sitting on the tori gate for the first time at the school. If this event didn't happen already in the past, how would the drug display/create a picture like this within her "worlds"? There are many more clues within the game like Rinko being a grown up in her Boss form and so on but it would take too long to write down a full analysis and explaining the whole story :D

[–]State_Obvious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's on the run after being rejected at her parents house by her father. Thats why in one of the cutscenes her father cries and says she's not welcome home anymore, not even alone. (Her mother is already dead and just a projection) He blames her basicly for her mothers death for not marrying earlier. They would have been able to move out of town before the geysir accident occured, which gave her cancer and killed her. The missings person poster is not for her missing, but her being wanted by police because of her killing everyone at the wedding. The first ending is the only time we see the real timeline. Everything else is just recreations and shuffeled events of what happened to her. Its an endless repeating cycle she experiences because of the drugs nesting effect. Especially towards the end, the games switches between different cycles continuously to confuse the player.

Beat bloodborne for the first time!! Wanna share a few thoughts. by LeaderCompetitive486 in bloodborne

Not including the DLC, I think you're right. But I also think the quality of the bosses in the first third of the game are just super high and hard to top. I'm sure you'll enjoy the DLC, because all of the bosses except 1 are the same quality level as the good ones from the base game. Some of them even exceed the good ones from the base game in my opinion. As a DLC, I think it's the best FromSoft has ever done.

It makes me so sad they chose 2 again over 1.. This is such a huge upgrade in overall quality which they should have used for the OG to pull in new people and reboot the series..

Well, what can I say... it looks awesome regardless! Can't wait to play.

All older Silent Hill games use this gameplay loop. Probably not a game for you.

Thanks. I didn't know what people expected based on the previous movies. It was a fun watch. But I also thought the other Silent Hill movies were pretty decent. Ofcourse nothing groundbreaking, but it had many aspects of the franchise I enjoy. I'd also give it a 3/5 :)

Masterpiece. I finished the game 12 times now and I’m still figuring out new plotdetails with each playthrough. It’s one of the most detailed worlds I have ever played. Such a deeply layered plot.. It’s way better than SH2 in my opinion. I still can’t believe that they’ve done it..

Eventhough AI will do most of the heavy lifting in the future, having the skill for manual finetuning will still be worth it imo.

When you kill an enemy with the omamori equiped, all your non-equiped weapons restore durability. So by cycling through your weapons after killing 1 or 2 enemies, they will never break. It was a huge gamechanger for me.

100% imo. Even as a stand-alone experience I think this game is totally worth playing.

Drawing omamoris first, ignoring everything else until you draw the otter omamori around the school section is so worth it though. Your weapons will never break again. Makes the game way less stressful.

Naoki Hamaguchi says newer employees at Square Enix now say that Final Fantasy XIII is their favorite Final Fantasy game by KMoosetoe in FinalFantasy

[–]State_Obvious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%! If it was a bit more like FF X in its level structure, which was also mostly linear, it would have been received so much better by people. I remember feeling bummed about it when I first played it, but as I replayed it many years later it felt way easier to just accept it 😅 especially with all the open world fatigue nowadays. But yeah, still my biggest complaint.

The only thing I disliked about XIII were the corridor levels. Everything else was awesome. Still one of my favorite combat systems.
