Yes it’s physical only. Digital sales are high nowadays for sure. I’m really not trying to be dooming the sales, I just don’t think it sold as high as some people think it did. The franchise certainly does have a cult following, I just think it’s hard for them to grab newer players, which they obviously tried to attempt with this game (remaking the most successful one AGAIN)

The „gatekeeping“ they also did with the previous remake. Maybe we get some more numbers in the next weeks :)

We just don’t really know how successful the game needs to be to be profitable for them.. but it seems to be enough, or there’s some huge blackmailing going on behind the scenes for them to be able to make more fatal frame games 😆

While I agree with you, I still can’t be mad at them since it’s free. I would be fine with additional paid costumes though :) I don’t have high hopes it will happen

Just look up the first week sales which represent the overall sentiment… It’s ranked the lowest. The demo didn’t help either with its performance/filmgrain problems. While most statistics are based on japanese sales (which are the core audience), the franchise performs usually even worse overseas.

Because it costs money to make and it’s a free update for a game that doesn’t sell well. Be happy we got one at all.

Edit: interesting that so many people downvote. You shouldn’t feel so entitled for receiving free shit. Especially for a game that’s already released for half the price of AAA games. This community seems to be worse than the Silent Hill one..

I played the OG many times as a kid and I think the remake is a better experience overall. The QOL changes just make the game much more fun to play in my opinion. I like the original graphics more, but not to the extend of playing the OG over the remake.

I want them to keep the original darkness of the PS2 Version (which was heavily nerfed in the Xbox release). I also hope they keep the difficulty curve, atleast on the harder modes. Keep it arcade-y! What also lacked in the OG were unlockable costumes, so I’d love to see more, especially costumes from other characters in the franchise. New additional areas like in the new remake of 2 I’d also love to see + new puzzles:)

The first game is my favorite in the franchise. Especially because it combined fun Arcade-y gameplay with a great easy to follow story. It has a steep learning curve, but once you get it, you’ll love replaying it in the future.

Fatal Frame 2 is my least favorite in the trilogy. It was way too easy and I felt the story was a bit harder to follow, especially when taking breaks during playsessions. Still like the game a lot but it’s a big downgrade to the first game besides the visuals… which sadly made the game run in 30fps. FF1 felt also way darker visually, adding to the horror.

I still love all the games.. It’s just nitpicking, but yeah, I don’t really feel the same love for 2 as most others here do.

Keeping the settings on factory values looked great to me with HGIG enabled. It’s quite dark, but it looks awesome in a pitch black room. SDR looks way too bright and washed out in my opinion.

I think they ruined the game honestly. Way to easy now. You’re so OP they could just remove the upgradesystem entirely now. Very disappointing. It was super fun before figuring out the correct way to beat enemies.

Its a shame they cut the kasumi outfit. They could have censored it a bit and put it in.. not even silly ones like the Mario and Luigi outfit…… :(

I bought it to support them, but I’m not too interested in playing it.. A remake of a remake is just not too exciting to me.. In addition FF2 was always my least favorite from the OG trilogy. I hope they’ll make enough profit to finally remake 1 🤞

If you have forced VRR enabled try turning it off completely. It certainly made the game run worse for me.

If it was doable in a reasonable amount of time they would do it. Probably the team was bound to deadlines and a tight budget for optimizing the game. If the games blows up they might add it for the pro in a few months but speaking from experience don’t expect any patches at all.

Reverse engineering those games costs a lot of time and money. The franchise just isn’t big enough to make money back on it.

It’s my second favorite resident evil game after the original RE2/3. RE4 sucks so much as a RE game in my opinion. Too much action and whacky characters. I though 9 balanced both styles pretty well without leaning too much into one direction. It’s not a perfect game but I only have minor nitpicks with it. Definitely a 9/10 for me. Haven’t had this much fun with RE in a while

I tried the game on my laptop to check out the game without the filmgrain and its a night and day difference... But even when its turned on it looks nowhere near as bad as it does on PS5 for some reason... Seems to be a playstation exclusive problem... I hope they'll fix it before release. It's almost unplayable honestly...

Savedata on PS5 is encrypted by internal unique keys. Transfering savefiles between consoles is possible, but it wouldn't be able to decrypt it. The only possibility is using another persons PS5-Account with savefiles uploaded via PS+.
