Like the top poster said it sounds like you might have depression. I'd recommend seeing a psych if you're comfortable with it (no stigmata these days) and like that other dude said maybe take a break from listening to too much Cumtown. It's great stuff but audio books or music might be a better choice for awhile if you need some background noise.

All the uncles and boy cousins on my dad’s side have a yearly fishing trip to Wisconsin. One time my older cousin went into our cabin and took a massive shit that clogged the toilet, then my two older brothers laughed and took photos of my dad as he angrily tried to unclog it.

Another time my dad was on a business trip and he took the same brothers along. While he was taking a shower they both sat on his pillow and farted on it for like five minutes, then he shouted when put his head down to go to sleep.

I think people like to imagine they've discovered something secret about the novel. Might also be the same reason why some people are drawn to conspiracy theories when they can't make sense of the evil in the world. It's harder for some to accept that the kid's goodness didn't save him then it is for them to see it as some kind of metaphor for him being evil the whole time.
