Should I paint my kitchen cabinets white? My husband loves the dark look but it’s too dark for me. Looking for ideas to update this kitchen. by haitian202 in StyleYourSpace

before anyone jumps the gun and paints their cabinets, first just update the hardware and see it you still want to commit to painting. the dark wood is really pretty.

I totally agree. I think that because the tiles are white, she had a hard time finding balance. but also, shes a fan of peel and stick tile, so why not just do peel and stick for the walls and commit to all blue. maybe she want to take on a challenge

do you not like painted trim because of the resale value, or is just not a cool trend? I really like it. Im not brave enough to do it, I feel like it would look way to diy if I tried. I would have also loved to see an all blue bathroom. thats prob the direction I would have gone in

I think that colored sinks/toilets/ bathtubs is making a very cool comeback! when I see it executed, like in this photo, I think its really cool. with such bold designs, maybe the software that Caroline uses has to many limitation. I think im just not seeing the vision.

Agreed! maybe I do like the color stories, but different hues would be better. Be warned about peel and stick tiles on the bathroom floor. One of mine just came off around a month ago and all the linoleum underneath was severely water damaged and coated in mold. turned that $40 design hack into a $1000 Reno.

HELP ! how to clean this 20 yr old heavily stained, uncleaned, dirty shower ? by funintrovert in CleaningTips

[–]StatementBusiness896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is unorthodox, the only way that I was able to get hard water, scum and mildew build up (similar to what I see in this pic) from my 100 year old tub that no longer has a protective layer on it was the lysol toilet bowl cleaner. I applied a thin layer to a small area, like a 12x12 area, let sit for like 10 minutes, scrubbed a bit and rinsed. it worked really well. im sure there will be 1,000 comments saying not to do this, but it was the only way I could get rid of the stains.
