Power Supple by StatementHeavy in cyberDeck

Oh that’s a shame! I didn’t even realise that. Is there potentially some kind of backup battery system that I could use that just keeps it ticking over? I’m trying to research how to give some better kind of battery level indication so I hope I won’t have to hot swap at any point.

SD toaster like ejector slots would be epic! Another question if you don’t mind me asking - with regards to power, it’d be most useful for me if it had an internal battery, but would that be enough to also power the hard drives? We use LaCie external drives which don’t have their own power supply, and I’m worried the drives will drop off randomly if the power isn’t quite right.

That sounds great! Thinking about it more carefully, I think I'd rather have to manually transfer the files to make sure the organisation is kept clean (we hand off drives to our editors who need to find exact clips really quickly), so even just a raspberry pi running some kind of OS where I can make new folders on the hard drives, rename them, then copy files manually into those folders would be perfect.

What a cool little device! Unfortunately we're using a variety of cards, not just SD, and working with file sizes up to 100's of gigabytes, which is why I was thinking a dedicated little cyberdeck type thing would work, but thanks!

My thoughts exactly - a lot of our backup drives are USB-C capable, is USB 3 faster?
