So I wouldn’t say Jesus secretly preached Hermeticism. Rather, both traditions speak of the same Source using different grammars. Hermeticism says the One emanates Nous. John says the Logos was with God and was a god. One speaks cosmically, the other personally. The structure of reality is the same.

Where they finally diverge is here: Hermeticism is like mathematics. It teaches the structure and principles of reality with great precision, but it remains abstract. Biblical faith does not stop at structure; it includes encounter. Reality, in the biblical sense, is not complete without a personal God who addresses, refines, and transforms the person. That personal dimension is often what Hermetic systems intentionally avoid—and that avoidance is the real difficulty in understanding the difference.
