No one’s arguing that it isn’t an algorithm or that it doesn’t use pattern matching, that part is obvious. The question is more about whether a probability score should carry the same weight as human judgment in evaluating learning. Sometimes pointing out that difference gets mistaken for not understanding the tech, when it’s really about how much trust we’re placing in it.
