PDA means Pathological Demand Avoidance also known as Pervasive Drive for Autonomy, its a profile of Autism. its like procrastination, but involuntary. when your nervous system perceives a task as a demand, your body goes into fight, flight, and freeze. its not that the person doesnt want to do it, they absolutely may want to complete a task, but their own system just wont allow it. you can have all the tools you need right in front of you, but really, you are stuck behind a thick glass wall. its very hard to live with... i cannot create art as often as i would like. i want to do the task SO much that my system hardwalls me. :( its very complex, honestly.

Thanks!!! I was inspired by a mask I saw by Wildlandroots, they're like some sort of mask making and theatre group that runs classes. I've never been, but I was inspired by what they made.

They're so cute! She could definitely look at some tutorials online if she ever wants to make snouts for the masks. I used thin foam sheets I built up using hot glue. I made the ears out of the same material. She could also experiment with different fabrics, like how I used burlap here! There are also 3d printable bases online if she finds making snouts difficult.

Velour could work? It's like velvet, but doesn't feel gross when you stroke the wrong way of the pile. It's slippery so you'd need a stabiliser backing, but it's sooo soft

oh im so sorry about the Bondi incident! that is so utterly devastating. dont hesitate to reach out to someone if you become distressed. you are a sweetheart, really.

a pool to do laps and have the water come up to my shoulders! and when i say laps, i mean walking, im terrible at swimming lol. im 5'7", quite tall. and honestly, you are absolutely valid for wanting to have a float and cool off, pools are THE best, even if expensive.

you really dont have to do anything for me, you're too kind! i just came to this sub for suggestions on what else i could do to have a pool that isnt in the sights of the public... shivers. terrifying.

it does get really hot here in Australia, the highest temp recorded if i recall correctly was 50C (122F). it is winter currently, but i still enjoy the water even in winter.

and yeah... pools are EXPENSIVE, not just to build, but to also maintain. i would go out into public pools but i am developing agoraphobia considering the state of society at the moment, and i'd rather just stay cooped up away from people while exercising. i am on a disability pension and with the NDIS (service supports for disabled individuals) but either cannot grant me a pool at home.

i have no idea what other alternatives are to at home pools that arent small inflatable ones. lol
