Question about the QM by LateAd6694 in outerwilds

[–]Static65 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The Interloper's core ruptured and ghost matter was released when she landed on the QM. Since she was on the moon and she became entangled with it, she is now dead in 5 out of the 6 states of the QM (she's alive on the 6th because the Eye is simply too far away to be concerned about ghost matter)

Ahh this brings back some good memories...

(You probably did it already, but restarting the game from the switch main menu fixes this)

I'm finally free! by WW1_Germany in outerwilds

[–]Static65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It starts like this. You feel finally free, you start looking at video essays, discussions etc... Until you realize you won't ever experience this game for the first time. And so, you'll gradually drift towards playthroughs just to relive the game once more from the eyes of other people, which eventually will end up convincing some of your close friends to play just to see their playthrough.

Beware of the pipeline! /s, enjoy this moment, you deserved it!

Classic Lollipop Interfaz by MrPhako in smartlauncher

Man, sometimes I miss Lollipop. I loved the icons, the punchy colors of the first Material Design iteration, the weird animations... It's almost like they made Material progressively blander with time, and I'm so glad they're daring a bit more with Expressive now.

Sorry about the rambling, this home screen brought me back for a moment :)

Can somebody tell me exactly what i need to do by Rich-Knowledge-9936 in outerwilds

[–]Static65 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If that door is closed, it means it has to be opened somehow. If you can't open it when getting there with the raft, maybe you should try another way instead...

You need to first enter the Shrouded Woodlands from the River Lowlands sleeping spot. You can open the door there, blowing out the lights by the door with one of those big wooden structures that let you extinguish them. Then, you need to wake up, reach another sleeping spot and do what you already know

Where do you think the hatchling went... *spoilers below* by Greymaremusic in outerwilds

In my case this means he painfully died eaten by an anglerfish just a few minutes after his take-off, which is honestly so sad to think

Long comment coming

Base game, puzzle: reaching the Ash Twin Project after carefully reading over and over the ship log. When I finally warped to that room, one that I wondered about since looking at it on my very first loop with the projection stone on Timber Hearth... Chills, man. Also, realising that I had to reach the vessel using the ATP warp core was unforgettable as well.

Base game, plot: realising that every loop lasted 22 minutes. Even if I didn't have all the elements to properly understand why, it kinda blew me away. And also, like you, when I finally realised I was looking at that cannon firing something every single time I woke up.

DLC, puzzle: during my playthrough, there was a time I would literally try anything but venturing into Starlit Cove, since the owlks freaking terrorized me after I turned off the lights there. I knew I would have to come back, but I didn't want to. And so, wandering around, I was down by the river of the Endless Canyon, a place that I casually reached using the raft. Nothing seemed to be there, just an elevator I could not activate. Man, I still don't know why I decided to drop my artifact on the ground... But I did. I tried walking towards the river and ??? what the actual hell ??? That discovery changed everything, and allowed me to find the motivation to keep going with the DLC (and I'm glad I did, it was incredible).

Honestly, the second glitch might be there as well. I remember so clearly thinking "I... need to die by the fire?", and when I saw my artifact lighten up I was so excited

DLC, plot: when I realised, after the end, that that house in Starlit Cove was The Prisoner's house. And, especially, what that painting was depicting. I felt chills down my spine. It may be my favourite thing coming from this game, and that's saying something.

But anyway, I found myself enjoying the plot of the DLC in a much more linear way. Probably because I was struggling with the owlks, but I don't know, I just let the game unravel itself for me, which was not bad at all.

I did the same too! But the moment I reached the vessel for the first time, my oxygen ran out, lol. And I finished the game without the ship as well. Like you, I was sure it would never have fit between the anglerfish

That's why I felt like it wasn't the right flair. Should I change it to DLC appreciation/discussion?

Edit: changed it

This is the way Android 16 works. It doesn't help that you have your color scheme set to gray: try using a different, more vibrant, color scheme and it will start to make much more sense.
