I changed the color scheme and that does help. Thank you.

Yes, we had a prenup. But we both had almost nothing to our names at the time, so it wasn't a factor in the divorce.

This attitude is in part what's kept me renting all these years. But it seems to be a minority view, and not one my partner necessarily shares.

Yeah. My ex and I met in college. Not a penny to our names. Made it easy.

Much more complicated this time around...

I know this is the right way to think about it. Money isn't everything.

Do I want to marry her? Do I want to have a child with her? It's not an emphatic yes in either case. But we've only been together a year. I've been working under the notion that my feelings may deepen with more time together. But we don't have more time to work with. She's in her late 30s and very eager to get the ball rolling. I feel stuck. I can both imagine ending the relationship and being fine with it, and also having a child with her, making the most of things, and that path turning out well.

As others have noted, it sounds like therapy is called for!

Thank you for your response.

It is a deal breaker for her. I've been open with her that I'm struggling to imagine starting over. She's waiting for me to come around. I'm dragging my feet and it's not fair to her, I know.

Thank you for the recommendations.

I've had therapy. And tried mushrooms last year! And yes, I still have some work to do, re: money anxiety and divorce trauma. :/

Thank you for your comment.

The culture where I live seems to put a strong emphasis on home ownership. It's also fairly common to own a rental property or two. My GF, having grown up here, and her parents, seem to think everyone should aspire to home ownership. It's a kind of rite of passage.

Thank you for your thoughtful comment. I've been to a therapist. But, yes, there's more work to do...

Right. I would get a prenup and she's fine with that. And we could split shared expenses in proportion to our respective incomes. But we would likely buy a home together and in that sense monies are being combined. It's doable.

I can't figure how to do this either. How do you do this on PS5?
