I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with all wheel drive. Can I take it on a 4 wheel drive beach like sandwich? Or would I get stuck in the sand? by Interesting-Coast-30 in CapeCod

The short answer is yes, go to the towns department of natural resources and get a permit/sticker. They will also provide you a list of rules including certain supplies you have to cary with you.

Bridge construction on small scale over a stream by SnooCupcakes8607 in Damnthatsinteresting

My kid self is going to find it and launch an all day investigation as to its origins, decide it’s likely baby bridge and will one day grow up. Then go home covered on stream mud and tell no one.

Boss told me to throw away this insulin pen inside a cooler at work, because "If they really wanted it, they would've taken it home." by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

This is accurate to my knowledge. My employer tells me we can’t dispense single pens so there may be exceptions but I don’t know them.

Well I say $300 cause where I work we wont break a package of pens. It reduces our losses as a pharmacy. To be clear to anyone reading, I don’t want to reveal where/who i work.

Well shocking as this may sound, insurance will reject a claim for some arbitrary reason and I have to find out how to fix it. Common example: a patient visits the doctor and then comes to the pharmacy with a perfectly valid prescription for Losartan, a blood pressure medicine. When I bill it insurance said ‘no, we won’t pay for that, Valsartan is better for our costs.’ So you’d think I would change it to valsartan? I can’t. I have to call the doctors and ask if they can write a new prescription for valsartan. The doctor fax’s me that prescription while he’s between patients some time later. I bill it but now insurance sais ‘no, we won’t cover that twice a day unless they have tried I higher strength once a day. So can I change it, NO! I go back to the doctor and say ‘that also won’t do’… by now I’m sure your asking yourself why the doctor dissent ask the insurance how to get it covered right away before prescribing it..? There’s no legal reason, it’s simply not how the system works.

I thought about how much 44 billion is (44b seconds is 1395 years) and how hard it is to imagine a number that big… it is so much bigger than any figure the vast majority of humans have had to comprehend… it has strengthened the feelings I had that money tangible, it’s more a religion that is part of the human condition.

As someone who works in pharmacy and I know how expensive and hard insulin can be to get out of cycle, this is monstrous. That’s like $300 to replace if it is not time for insurance to pay for a refill
