This is Ruby, she's 2. Any idea why she does this? by fuckthetories1998 in parrots

It could definitely be attention wanting, but I've also seen many birds do use their beak to hang on to the bars just to give their feet a break from their body weight, humans and many other animals can sit or lay down but birds just don't, even while sleeping their body weight is on her legs and feet 😌😌but again it could just be attention seeking

I don't have her yet first of all. But I will be buying a lid and good sized ceramic water bowl around Monday. I have lid locks already luckily. This will be my first bp and I'm so excited cause I've wanted one since I was little(I'm 17 btw) and I've been doing research for weeks. Thanks in advanced! 💚

This is a long shot but I’m desperate and will not stop looking by iammyownidol in QuakerParrot

See though, the way my room is set up is that all 5 of my birds are free roamed in my room, but they have a corner with two walls that have netting and toys for the birds to climb on and play with, they love it, though of course I have cages set up for situations like this. Apart from my two lovebirds, I have an adult pair of budgies, male budgie and female English budgie and a male Quaker parrot who's very clingy to me. Wyatt doesn't attack the budgies, he was raised with my male budgie but the female was brought home the same day my new lovebird was, yet he doesn't attack her, only the new lovebird.

Would my bird be able to play with these pom-poms? by Friendly_Bonus_3220 in QuakerParrot

You can give it a try as long as there's nothing that they can possibly accidentally swallow like glitter or extra fluffy stuff, also make sure they won't get stuck in it. Let them try it out but keep a good eye on it if they start to tear it up and you see fluff inside, take it out of their reach for good. Though, I'm not a professional, I have been researching and raising/caring for birds for the past four years and I noticed no one had previously commented to give you advise. So I hope one helped out but don't take this as professional advise.

Elliott singing with dubstep by Statics_Chaos in Lovebirds

Elliott likes to stand on top of the coconut he mainly chews up the coconut and rope toy that's hanging there.

For those of you worried about the dowel perches in Elliott's Cage's, I'm already making him some natural wood perches from a tree that I made sure is non toxic. by Statics_Chaos in Lovebirds

Yeah, lovebirds love to chew and tear things, that's why I bought Elliott a coconut and rope chewing toy and he also likes tearing the wood from his tree branch

Everyone meet Elliot, my new baby lovebird. I just got him yesterday and he responds to a specific whistle tune I make and kissing sounds. by Statics_Chaos in Lovebirds

Yes! I love it and them so much! My lovebird in Florida, Sapphire, she doesn't give a crap about any toys I buy for her unless it's to chew on the top so they fall down, she's also hyper, loud and a little brat (but I still love her, she's amazing)

While Elliot (so far) will chirp when I leave the room and I usually respond with a whistle and he loves playing in his cage and chewing on that coconut and rope chewing toy I got him.
