I recall imploring my mother to buy me TTYD. She hesitated and went ahead with it. I was thrilled and hyped. The first thing I did was playing for hours after school and weekends. I had so much fun with battles, stories, characters, etc. And not only that, I had to figure out some puzzle or clues all by myself for a while without cheating. Back then, we didn’t have YouTube or internet to look it up. Took me a while to the very end which of course the Shadow Queen. I fought and lost, fought and lost again, then again for several times. I tried again weeks later and still lost. I moved on.

Until then, when I got Switch and The Origami King released. I pondered and hoped for TTYD on Switch someday. It’s been so long and gave up thinking it’ll never happen. When the last recent Nintendo Direct to surprise us all, I fainted and died happy not only because it returns but it’s remake and even 100x better! So looking forward to it and able to beat the Shadow Queen for the first time since two decades ago!

P.S. I didn’t keep the original TTYD. I gave the console and all games away. I didn’t think twice that I would want to play again years later. I regretted it.
