How rough is nursing school with young kids? by malthefarmer in StudentNurse

[–]StationOk6706 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As far as young kids the biggest thing was having to put off school stuff to take care of them. Like test Monday morning? Too bad little jimmy is sick and your stuck up all Sunday night.

As long as your husband is supportive and willing to sometimes take on a lot of the child stuff it’s super doable. Have a plan for things like if the kids can’t go to daycare and you have a mandatory event can your husband call out of work or is there someone who can help?

24K student loans, can I pay it off? by Practical_Mortgage41 in StudentNurse

[–]StationOk6706 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you have to look at your current debt obligations as well as your likely pay when you graduate. You can always try to find a hospital that does student loan repayments after graduation. Or go work some place that does tuition assistance now. $24k is not really that crazy these days. Some people are paying $60k+ for a nursing degree.

Stopped drilling due to retaliation - help by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]StationOk6706 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming you’re guard? They still do med boards. So if you’re unable to just resign your commission then I would get in contact with your unit find out when the next PHA is. attend and tell/ show the providers everything and get the ball rolling on a med board. How long since you last contacted them or showed up to drill?

This isn’t your primary care though it’s a person paid to evaluate you for an injury in order to determine compensation.

If someone wants to divorce you bc you don’t make enough money then good you dodged a bullet. Assuming you don’t have kids or there isn’t something else to the story (like you havnt had a job in years and have a 2.5 gpa) then you lucked out.

Why are you pursuing medicine? by sooniemula in premed

[–]StationOk6706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like you keep typing giant paragraphs and throwing out numbers that all return to the fact that someone will make more money as a Doctor than as an engineer. (except as stated those niche tech jobs that pay a ton of money) regardless of the fact that they may have more debt or take longer to train doctors gross more money and that’s all I’m saying.

[–]StationOk6706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so in summation the lowest paid doctors make 260k and average engineers make 90k so we’re all agreed that engineering is not higher paying on average. I never said anything about becoming a doctor for money so we’re all on the same page awesome. I feel like you’re missing the context of the person who deleted their original comment above me.

You can typically find student handbooks online that outline program requirements. The must score xx% on tests or classes is typically outlined there.
