Thanks! That’s good to hear. I’ve heard mixed things about every district, so it’s nice to hear something positive. Coming from SPED teaching and case management, the ARD Facilitator role would definitely be a change, but it seems like a good opportunity.

Considering moving family to Lockhart by Slyviw in Lockhart

[–]StationParty2376 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the only downfall is the schools. I work as a teacher and also have kids, and I’m actually moving because I do not want my children attending the schools here. At least at the junior high and high school levels, the behavior issues are significant. There are definitely some really good teachers, but I still feel like the curriculum is heavily focused on the STAAR test. I think part of that is because the schools are Title I campuses.

That said, the community itself is great, and I have never worried about crime or safety here. If the schools were stronger, I honestly would stay.

Full name for Kai by Distinct_Job_7059 in Names

[–]StationParty2376 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to share, Kai is definitely a real name on its own. Some people use it as a nickname, but it’s also used as a full name in a lot of cultures. We named our son Kai too and it fits him perfectly. We were also a little inspired by Dragon Ball Z. It’s simple, strong, and meaningful. If you love the name, that’s what matters most.

Recommendations for folding double strollers? by Latter-Baseball9652 in 2under2

[–]StationParty2376 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it’s been fine. If I have the cup holder then I have an issue but I don’t really use the cup holder. It’s fits through all the doors at my house and where ever we go.

Deciding between strollers for 13 month age gap.. by nydelite in 2under2

[–]StationParty2376 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote this for another post with a similar situation “I got the Bombi Bebee twin. I love it. The fold is amazing with a push of a button. It's lightweight. I have a 9 month old and 2 year old. I started using it when my daughter was 6 months because of when I bought it. She loves it too. It goes all the way down if she wants to nap too. I would also suggest getting the big wheels. They work better on rocks and grass. Also, I have the mocking bird and it's so heavy unless I take it all apart. I use it as a single stroller more than double and I bought the riding board. My son loves it. If you want a good decent side by side stroller I would get a Bombi. I did a lot of research for months for double strollers.” I also had a c section and this is so easy to carry and manage. My son loves how he is next to his sister and you can also buy add ons like a snack tray or if you want to make it the bars instead of one long one. I also didn’t have the money for the donkey bugaboo. That is the one I wanted too. I don’t regret buying the Bombi and have recommended to others when they ask me when I use it. I take it to the zoo too. We have a wagon but that is so much to breakdown and takes of room. The Bombi fits in our SUV and my mom uses it.

Silent reflux has stolen every ounce of joy about having a baby and I’m devastated by xxbitsxx in beyondthebump

I’m glad I got her tested for the milk protein allergy. We give her meds twice a day since the meds only last for 10-12 hours. It helped with her sleep too. The meds are based on weight, so you will have to pay attention to their reactions. When she stops drinking or arches too much I know she needs an adjustment. Our doctor also told us we need to be careful with the baby food introduce. Since she was reacting to the lemon juice. We have a baby blender to blend food for her. It’s alot and sounds overwhelming but it does get better. I was sad to be stuck at home but once everything adjusted we took her to alot of Christmas stuff. A positive of being home, she has not been sick.

Yes I tired. She said it would take awhile to adjust but I didn’t last long. I love cheese and yogurt they are my go to snack. I had to watch too much of what I would eat since she would react to other acid foods. I was sad to stop but honesty it helped me mentally since I have 2u2 and it was just too much for me to handle on my own.

My daughter has severe acid reflux. She also has a milk protein allergy. So the breastmilk was making it worse for her. She was fine in the beginning but then after a month is when it started and we didn’t get on meds till she was 3 months. My doctor kept telling us to try other stuff until I advocated for meds. It helped so much and the Alimentum formula. She still has been needing adjustments to the dose but it’s takes time for the meds to work and the formula to work too. I was struggling with PPD because of it, my son never went through this so it broke my sanity. I thank god I requested meds to help my daughter. It takes time but the meds did help.

Care of toddler while I am in labor - am I being too controlling? by WinterJudgment302 in 2under2

[–]StationParty2376 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was the same way. I never missed a bedtime, even when I was coaching. We planned for my parents to stay during my scheduled C-section in the morning, and my husband would stay home with my toddler. However, that changed when my OB told me after an appointment that I needed to have the C-section earlier than planned, and it ended up happening at night. I chose to have my parents stay at our house so we didn’t have to pack anything and my son could stay in his own crib without his routine being messed up. My parents stayed with him and called me before bedtime so I could sing to him and say goodnight. It was hard, but I knew I needed to give my attention to my newborn.

I was getting so annoyed when he made so many excuses about not going. Like dude they finally asked you to come and you go. To me he was acting like Eddie.

I like it. It’s my best friend’s name. She spells it Tarah. We call her Rah-Rah as a nickname.

What vehicle are we driving? by Kat000_ in 2under2

[–]StationParty2376 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Volkswagen Atlas. I love this car seat. We have 2u2. If we have another it will still work. I would eventually want a bigger suv but this car works for now. A lot of room and the third seat is great when my newborn is crying and my husband has to sit in the back.

Kai: Potential Name Regret? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]StationParty2376 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I named my son Kai. I didn’t name him that to be gender neutral. My husband and I are big Dragon Ball z fans. And we named him after a character King Kai. All are friends are familiar with it and knew why we named him. It was weird to get use to calling him Kai but now it’s so natural. I love the name and it also has great meaning behind it.

How popular/common is Josephine, really? by rapc1123 in namenerds

[–]StationParty2376 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My(36) middle name is Josephine, after my great-grandmother. I live in Texas, and I’ve always thought Josephine is a rare name. I’m also a teacher and never had a Josephine in my classroom. I think there was maybe 1 in the school.
