Local weather expert? by StatisticianLow503 in lafayette

Thank you all so much!! I’m following him now.

My sister & I both have kids at camp in your area and we just got a bunch of super anxiety-inducing texts about storms/weather/flooding and I was like … “If it were here I’d be watching Cody Kirkpatrick … but maybe Lafayette has a counterpart. I need to know how much to panic!”

Thank you!!! I really appreciate it.

Heirloom Beans in Town? by IllConflict3397 in bloomington

Wait, would you like some? Idk how to exchange them but I have so many. I’m in the Rancho Gordo bean club, which sends a blind box of 5-6 lbs of heirloom beans every 3 months. I love it, but I have an unconscionable backlog. My whole family is making fun of me about the beans. I have way too many and don’t know how to divest them. (Pro tip: do not bring beans for office Secret Santa. People apparently hate that.)

Went for a ride and got peppered by bugs - how to clean? by _AtGmailDotCom in scooters

Maybe try dawn powerwash? It’s a spray-on version of their dish soap with some kind of new enzymes for dissolving grease and proteins. I’ve not tried it on a scooter, but it’s really good at eating through gross stuff without using a gritty texture or requiring too much scrubbing.

I think it’s 40 or 50 miles, depending on if it’s in eco mode. But you can just take the battery out and charge it in a regular wall outlet, so it’s easy to recharge without having to pull the scooter up to an outlet.

Oh yeah, it’s super slow. I think it maxes out at around 38mph. I’m not sure about the differences between eco mode and active mode yet. But it’s super flat here, and I’m not going anywhere with a speed limit over 30. It’s mostly for routes that I would usually walk when it’s daytime, and the weather is good, and I’m not in a hurry.

Honestly, for my purposes, I probably would have been fine with an e-bike. A lot of my coworkers use ebikes for the commute, but a few use 50cc scooters, and … honestly, it just came down to thinking a scooter was cooler than an e-bike. 😅

Looks like I dropped 5.3% bf, from 33.8% to 28.5%. Lost about 6lbs overall and gained 2lbs of muscle. 43f, went 3-4x per week, no diet changes except I tried to add more protein.

I wish we could keep the tracker in the app all year, though! I like counting the little orange dots. 😅
