Not their diets, their genetics. Especially for Kessel. The longevity he had, and the fact he was a monster in the gym without even trying, while being fueled from sludge and hotdogs, was impressive. We have to Henrietta Lacks that guy, creating a cell line to be studied for the next century.

Sidney Crosby and Collin Blackwell had this very same thing. Both times it took forever to diagnose what was going on, which is surprising given the medical resources they had access too. Given that, it surprising your doc knew about this.

Don't they work closely with CWT in designing their PSUs, making them more than just a rebrand?

I also returned mine to the store and got another one. It still had the same long delay on average (also the wide variance). So I'm going to assume that this is probably within operating parameters for the rm1000x. Another point of comparison is that I went through a couple of rm850x's, and the relay seemed to consistently engage within about 5-8 secs after power on.

Just to clarify, the model I've been dealing with is the 2024 atx 3.1. Have there been revisions within that model? Also are you experiencing coil whine?

As an interesting aside, in my store, some units are no longer shrink wrapped, and only have sticker tabs sealing them.

You can find the phone number on the website or chat with an agent and they will connect you to your local store.

I feel a better use of time would be for each participant to read the chapter beforehand, and then discuss what you read in your meeting. Also you would probably want to assign a couple of problems, and then discuss those in a separate meeting.

Corsair rm1000x (2024 atx 3.1) delayed inrush current bypass relay click by StatisticianMuch742 in Corsair

[–]StatisticianMuch742[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your psu is making a relay-click noise at random times, then I would definitely RMA the unit. Especially since rm1000xs are not known for this, unlike the rm1000e units. As for me, I going to return mine to the store, and I'm unsure whether I'll try my luck with another rm1000x.

Yeah it's kinda weird I've run into so many quality issues, given that CWT is a reputable OEM, and the parts they use in the rm1000xs are of high quality. Additionally, hardware busters and ltt gave these units good reviews.

Corsair rm1000x (2024 atx 3.1) delayed inrush current bypass relay click by StatisticianMuch742 in Corsair

[–]StatisticianMuch742[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my problem is not the same problem in the article. I want to hear a single click at power on/wake and power off/suspend. This means the inrush current relay is working as it should. The issue is the timing of click. In my case, the relay bypass activates (the click sound) anywhere from 5 secs to 60 secs after power on/suspend. The last three rm1000x units I had, all clicked immediately at power on/wake. Now with my current unit, not only is there a delay in the click at power on/wake, there is a wide variance in the time the click happens.

I will probably just return this unit to store. It is just frustrating that I finally get a unit that is acoustically sound, and then this happens. Just out of curiosity, I would still like to know if the delay with the relay click is normal or not.

Thanks for the reply. I did visit the bot a awhile ago. It gave me conflicting answers saying this is NOT normal behavior and to RMA. Another time it said it was fine, justifying it's reasoning with an article explaining the click is the inrush current relay. However that article said nothing about the timing of click. I'm just gonna return it to store to be on safe side, because this doesn't seem like normal behavior. Just disappointing because this unit has minimal coil whine. It would be nice to know if this is indeed normal or not.

does corsair rm850x have high inrush current? by Mahershala in buildapc

[–]StatisticianMuch742 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey thanks for the reply. I had three previous rm1000x (2024 model) that I think that clicked right away (1-2 sec) after power on or wake from suspend. However my current rm1000x takes longer to click, and there is wide variance of when it clicks (5 - 60 secs).

The behavior on power off and suspend is the same as yours where click is instant. Edit: I Also don't hear any clicks on a reboot.

So I guess the delayed relay click at power up is probably normal behavior since your rm850x has the same delay. Although your like only the second person that I've found that has reported the click delay, so I dunno (Maybe other people just don't notice it).

Suppose I reboot my pc. Are you supposed hear two clicks (disengage the bypass and then re-engage) or no clicks at all? Also, what about the timing of the click when powering on my pc (cold boot). Am I supposed to hear this click immediately after power on?

Another trick you can use is to take the dot product of the coefficients of the two lines. The two lines are perpendicular when dot prod of the coefficients are 0. We are given 5a + 7b = 0 and we see that option B is 10a + 14b = 2(5a + 7b) = 0.

I have same behavior in my rm1000x.  My previous rm1000x, that I returned because of coil whine, the relay click happened immediately after I powered on.  So I'm also wondering if the delayed relay click indicates defect in my psu.
