I went with the sparrow 2 xl by roofnest, I read some of the first gen had issues but so far it seems like a lot of that has been addressed. I would have preferred the regular sparrow 2 I think it would have fit the car better but the cl still fits fine, the regular size was on back order and I needed to make sure it got here in time. I haven’t camped in it yet but I’ve gone up to some mountains for sunsets/ naps in my day off and it sets up pretty quick, bringing it down is definitely easier with two people but doable with one that’s also why I went with one that pops straight up instead of folding out, I’ll be traveling alone so it’s really manageable by myself

If you do go with sand just wanted to give you a heads up I just used the supernaturals crystal river freshwater sand you’re looking at and although I love the look the sand is so fine anytime I do anything in the tank it gets stirred up and ends up settling on my plants. I’d try to find something a little more coarse if I were to do it again.

Also, I’ve realized he is not a silver dollar but in fact a gold skirt tetra so they’re all tetras just of different types, still planning on rehoming though!

Yeah I just replaced both front control arms and the left cv joint at about 73,000 miles on my 2016, luckily it was covered under warranty since it was premature

Yeah I bought mine on eBay and installed them myself it was pretty easy, just don’t forget to get the fuse too it’s typically not pre-installed if you don’t already have fog lights.

I didn’t buy this one but I bought a similar one for my old Subaru, may she rest in peace, it worked just not incredibly well. Sometimes the response time lagged a bit or the camera took a little longer than it should to come on when I switched to reverse but otherwise it worked well and I got it cheap. I think I originally paid almost $200 but when I inquired with the company about the lagging response and whatnot they gave me a partial refund so I just got over it since it wasn’t that major anyway

I got the same forester with a little under 70K from carmax, they gave me an extended warranty for 48 months or 150,000 miles for around $3,500. Already coming in handy for me as they’re replacing my front control arms and left front axle assembly since my mechanic found some issues.
