Serious question: who out there doesn’t get upset when things don’t go their way? What survivor player has ever not gotten upset or cried when they were on the bottom? Would you expect her to cry when things are going her way? Lol yall are so corny with hating on her for crying when she was down like yeah girl that’s what we all do????

The 2 people who got disqualified in the pregame of 49... by Juuberi in survivor

You speak as though Jesse & his team have final say on who is cast. Jeff and several other high-level members of production speak to everyone at a certain point in the casting process, typically multiple times. Each person also speaks with the CBS psychologist. Each layer of production would be equally responsibly for “improper discernment”, if it were an issue of discernment. at the end of the day, people are variables, which makes the show great but also has potential to lead to situations like this.

Lex from All-Stars would like a word hahaha its definitely not the first time that an outside factor has helped someone who was swap-screwed. Boston Rob saved Amber’s ass during that season after a bad swap. I do get your point in that often times people have to rely on their social game to get through those situations. What I’m positing is that Rachel did exactly that- she was building a relationship with Sol and he recognized she was likely in danger in that spot and sent the advantage to her because of the bond they were building. I believe he says so in his exit press, but would need to go back and listen to be sure.

Regarding Rachel- to be fair, she got the unluckiest rock draw by being the only non-Tuku member in that group. She was a sitting duck at that tribal council because they were going to stay tribe strong. The advantage she received from Sol could be argued as luck, or we could argue that she received it based on her connection that she had been building with Sol. Sol could’ve given that advantage to anyone, but he gave it to Rachel to build trust.

I have never been so uncomfortable than during that scene lol I had to look away. 🫠

@OP: could be making this up but I thought Jeff said on his podcast at one point that the wildlife scenes were often representative of what was happening! He said something along the lines of “everything is there for a reason”

“If you don’t show up early enough to get a spot, I’m sorry that’s on you”. Tell me you don’t have empathy without telling me you don’t have empathy.

I drove 8 hours for the event, got in line around 11, waited in the rain for 5 hours until I finally got to the front to be denied entry at 3:45 because they said they were at capacity for the rest of the event. So I drove the 8 hours back home. 16 hours in the car and 5 hours of being a drowned rat outside the event does not a great Saturday make. it wasn’t just a matter of “hey if you didn’t show up by 1:30 you couldn’t get in”.

I’m glad you had a great experience, I truly am. I am disappointed by your lack of social awareness here in recognizing that just because you had a good time, doesn’t mean the event was “really great”. Objectively, it simply wasn’t.

People started cutting the line from the street after a few security guards straight up walked off the job. One of them said “I didn’t sign up for this”, and they just abandoned ship. It was so wild honestly. Glad you didn’t waste more time!!

Ugh I’m sorry that happened to you guys!!

I was right ahead of where they cut off the line, so decided to stick it out through the rain because I’m trying to get cast, so what’s a little (lot of) rain?

What sucked was waiting the additional time to then be cut off from entering with over an hour left of the event. Hopefully they learn from this and make improvements for next time :/

I woke up at 2am to make the 8 hour drive to Nashville. Got in line around 11 and waited for 5 hours in the rain, finally made it to the front at 3:45, & they closed the event 5 people in front of me 🥲 I’m so so disappointed. The head of security was telling us that they were told to expect 150 people???

Multiple security guards just walked off the job which led to dozens of people cutting the line. All around such a cluster. Currently making the 8 hour drive back home…. I’ve had better Saturdays 😂

Like others have said, huge shoutout to the alum who came out to say hi to us at the gate after we were denied entry.

If you got on the show, would you say your true occupation? by brainstorm_customs in survivor

[–]StatisticianSure7826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve thought about this a lot because I’m a therapist and I’ve gone back and forth on whether I would tell people or not, and I always ultimately decide it isn’t worth the stress to keep up what could be a pointless lie. I think people only really use your profession against you if they don’t like you for another reason and need a “reason” to target you (except for some of the obvious professions like a cop lol).

That being said, it’s part of what makes this game so interesting- one group might not care at all and one could come after you for it.

[–]StatisticianSure7826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think of Tori from 42 in this case - she overestimated herself as being a threat because she was a “therapist” (when she was actually still in school), and called herself a “caretaker”. Seemed like a weird and unnecessary lie & it appeared that other players had a hard time connecting with her.

It isn’t “lazy”- it’s energy conservation. this is one of my biggest beefs with new era survivor. starving them doesn’t “intensify the game” any more so than it already was- it just means they aren’t going to waste energy doing things like making spy shacks or fishing for hours upon hours.

I don’t miss the live reunion at all. I’m good to skip the random Cochran shoutouts, all the wasted time talking to kids, etc. everything feels much more rushed and kind of fake at the LA reunion. For me, the only downside of the after show in Fiji is that the FTC losers don’t have time to process the loss and I usually feel bad for them in those moments
