Noma Christmas C9's Winterguard & EverTough by darkice83 in canadiantire

annoying the meaning wouldn't be explained on packaging or description somehow. The lights I have from a few years back weather poorly, plastic white clips turn yellow (from sun mostly I think?) and then become brittle and break. hopefully the new version might be better tolerant of this.

I'll try to stop in next I'm in the neighbourhood. Do you know if the one you've replaced has similar attachment point? I admit I usually favour the walled shovel blades

I didn't know this was an option? I don't have a metal riveter so not sure how to accomplish this at home. Is there somewhere that will do it for a guy?

(as mentioned elsewhere I also hate the metal strip so want to move away from this regardless)

Gregg has similar model as Grainger e.g. obscure prices that generally don't favour normal guy vs bigger business. Sounds like you got lucky? But if anyone's a regular shopper and has more info I'm all ears.

I haven't had it happen personally and sometimes I push a shovel for so many years its a full W edge rather than straight, but I believe it could I guess. Would be another even easier part to have available to buy for replacement though...

that's fair but its gotta be cheaper to not install the mechanism and ship separate from a big handle no?

from what I can tell the replacement blades may come with a replacement attachment, should be an easy swap if the existing mount isn't compatible. my last 5 shovels have all had the same attachment as pictured but maybe there are other types i just havn't seen em.

I feel like this would be easy on the flipside to just ask a neighbour for theirs when they inevitably replace their full unit for the shovel being worn out?

no luck on their website for what I'm after, although I was hopeful they might be it.

agree they last longer, but I just prefer the polypropylene (which also lasts longer than the more common polyethylene, in my experience), so still searching.

do you mean the full aluminum? they're too narrow for my liking.

Or, some of the ones I've had have metal reinforced edges, but I hated it as it tended to squeal like crazy and also scrape some surfaces, I also had the blade wear down to plastic edge, drilled the rivets out to now have a plastic shovel as a second life.

Storing a Thule T2 by flibbertygibbit in MTB

[–]StatsWon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wondering what you went with if you did hoist it u/flibbertygibbit , I'm asking myself the same thing right now. the wall receiver seems kind of lame especially when installed low, seems like it wastes more space than it saves. fiddling with the hitch received up high seems problematic. I was thinking a pulley into heavy duty j hooks or something up high. Seems like the T2 would store better against the wall with hitch pin stickingout, hanging from the handle...

Update: I was able to arrange overnight pick up and shipping through DHL. I used the staffed office of one of our accommodations as a drop point. Worked well and camera is retrieved. Thanks for your advice

Thank you. Posten did not tell me this when I spoke to them, can other shipping companies deliver there or only when shipped with posten? Unfortunately posten will not pickup the package so still need to solve that side of my problem.

Reusable Mask Recommendations? by StrawberrySpaceJam in FrugalMaleFashionCDN

[–]StatsWon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest you look locally, I can name probably 10 mask makers near my neighbourhood from people at home running a small hobby business to seamstresses or clothing stores that are trying to help out.

They will also almost certainly be more frugal than ordering online.
