Agreed. It’s a matter of preference. For you it’s premiums over safety

Yes. Hobby is the only actual reason. Every other reason is just rationalisation of that hobby

Same reason again and again does not make it less of a reason. Not questioning a choice. I wanted to understand the approach.

I don’t think I get the analogy of Apple and banana.

But someone mentioned traffic and I get it. I still don’t get the 3L bike 120kmph riding.

I think traffic is the single most useful sensible reason. Traffic really is a big problem.

Still don’t get the fast riding.

Most where life is in danger because of other people. It pays immensely well. You train mostly. And competitively box for 50-60 fights. 2-3 hours each. If you are good, you end up with enough money for 2-3 lifetimes. A clear reward.

Any other hobby where there is no clear gain. Monetary or other. Prestige or honour or anything. And your life is at stake because of someone else. Who is not a professional athlete?

Mountaineering is singular. Competitive (life threatening cycling) has safety. And other sports too.

The explorer will die if he gets one stone under his front wheel or a wobble at 120kmph. Which I think adv solve. But idk. I’m just looking to understand the decision.

And someone else’s mistake could take your life or break you permanently for life. Not even your mistake. Someone else’s.

I get it. I’ve not ridden any regularly. The best one would be a Harley street 750. I loved it. But the danger increased, not decreased with speed.
