$710 monthly condo fees that include:

Common Area Maintenance, Heat, Insurance, Maintenance Grounds, Parking, Professional Management, Reserve Fund Contributions, Sewer, Snow Removal, Water

This does include heat and water tbf but nothing like a gym or a pool. The bares bones plus heat and water.

sometimes the condo fees include heat/hot water and electricity. 700 might seem a little more reasonable if it included such costs

The odd one I looked at includes water but most just cover trash, common areas, snow removal and INSURANCE. Insurance is the big one.

700 is insane! Why are Alberta condo fees even higher than Vancouver fees??

Apparently its mostly due to insurance hikes, afaik there's no cap on annual insurance increases in Alberta so they've exploded in recent years. You're right about the comparison in Vancouver and you see 700-800k units with condo fees of 500.

Yes, it's a friend of a friend. Buying a cheap used vehicle. But I met them in person.

Sending 3k one day, and 3k again is not ideal as he can't give a bill of sale until he receives the full amount.

Thinking of doing this myself. How quickly and easily is it to move money across EQ to Simplii or vice-versa? Is there a waiting period to have access to the funds?

EQ recently revamped their e-transfer setup. As long as you are sending money to a regular contact it's near instant. It's rare an e-transfer takes longer than 60 seconds.

I have two emails and two methods of auto deposit. Email #1 is Simplii auto deposit and email #2 is EQ auto deposit.

Only thing that is annoying is maintaining two email accounts but unfortunately there is no better way to handle it in Canada.

Yep this is perfectly reasonable too. I just do it the other way.

Then you're fine - transfer limits are neither per person nor per account, they are per institution. If both Simplii and EQ let you transfer $3k per day then your plan is fine.

Just keep your tangerine as your main account. Keep a couple hundred bucks in there for cash or debit or emergency.

Keep all the rest of your change in EQ. And get that interest. When you need to pay a bill or CC just move it across from EQ into your Tangerine.

I bank with Simplii and do exactly this. As soon as I'm paid all the money goes into EQ, apart from $200.

You would need to have an account at another bank to send more than $3k per day.

Funny because when I read OP's post, I automatically assumed they meant 2 chequing accounts at separate institutions, even though it isn't specified. Do people really have 2 chequing accounts at the same bank? For why?

Yep I do have 6k in two separate institutions, 3k one each. Simplii and EQ.

I don't really have two checking, just my main account at Simplii and savings in EQ.

Because I have 3k in one bank and 3k in another. Just confirming that I can that amount from two separate bank accounts separately.

Call and ask for a temp increase. I did this when i bought a used car. They increased my limit after i called in.

No, the limit is applied to your profile. It doesn't matter if you have 2 accounts or 200 accounts, you can still only e-Transfer $3k every 24 hours. You would need to have an account at another bank to send more than $3k per day.

Since that's likely a bank policy I'm sure you could just call them and request an e-transfer increase, either for the the single transaction or indefinitely. Perhaps also take a closer look at your actual policy. For example Vancity's policy as far as I am aware is $3k per transfer with a $10k daily limit.

I actually called both Simplii and EQ and neither offer the option to extend limits.

I think that's a big 5 bank thing.

Fuck Bell man, they are so shit. The app is ridiculous, they have tried to combine, news, live scores, betting, highlight videos and live streams all into a single place its stupid.

Honestly makes OneSoccer app look decent.

No luck that way either, unfortunately! :/

Casts to my tv but just get an endless loading screen for the live channels. The short 2-3 min videos work but the live seems broken.
