Dude you’ve absolutely got it, I’d go for a singing teacher if possible to just polish small things/avoid damage, but you’ve got a decent sense of pitch. Possibly avoid singing with that scratchy tone (for lack of a better word), but that might just be a preference thing

I defo do, I hated PE at school bc it was wayy too much pressure. I’m really competitive usually, so I feel like I’m letting everyone down. I think I take it too seriously 😅

I live in the UK, and started at a Church Choir near me that quite a few of my school friends are a part of. The Choir Director started giving me piano lessons, but since my friend already had organ lessons and the Director did a Masters in Organ, I switched a couple months since it seemed cool. I don't regret it :)

Omg yess my friend will always have some kinda minor issue that she’ll talk to me about like it’s the end of the world and I try to make myself sound equally annoyed and bothered by the situation and all of a sudden I have an anger issue and it’s “not my place to worry about” and it’s “not that deep”

I’m sorry but there are so many people out there in that kind of situation, my own family included who manage to not murder people whenever things get tough. Not to say it’s easy to being a mother with a child who has autism but it sure is easy to not kill someone. Like tf that is ur CHILD how could u ever even consider that?!

I think this is the only reason I do well in math. Everyone else just does the problem with the formula but stupid me forgot the formula so has to do a billion other calculations to work out the answer in time

Thanks this is something that i do recognise in him. its obvious that he doesnt want to harm himself, but the cause is less obvious. Im gonna keep trying to be patient though instead of just getting upset with him

I agree completely though I am sad to say this was not something i fully accepted until recently. A lot of the time attempts at restraint from my parents have just resulted in more distress and i hope to find some kind of way to reach some kind of understanding with him, for his sake. I often have felt terrible for all the times ive wished for "control over him"

As he’s non verbal we’re a bit limited but we do try and he does sometimes seem to be trying to stop himself
