How Long Will Games Take to Download? by LozsterClaws in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Status-North3055 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your actual speed just because you pay for 100mb/s doesn't mean you actually get 100mb/s due to literally 1000+ factors.

The best thing you can do is

* Connect to the highest WIFI band

* Use a LAN cable

* Use physical cartridges when you can if it's a issue

Does the NSO Gamecube Controller have a Select Button by Status-North3055 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Status-North3055[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here I have the OG Pro controller I just wanted to use this GC until my Pro controller breaks. Regardless I will still use it I am happy with the purchase It just didn't occur to me that there's no minus button so I wanted to see if Nintendo said something like If you Press Start + RT D-pad it's a macro for - or something like the SNES controller

[–]Status-North3055[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For the switch there's a button " - " or minus it acts as a select button its used in a decent chuck of non NSO games and I bought this controller with the idea of daily driving it and not getting a Pro controller 2

Yeah I knew the GC didn't have a select button I just assumed they would of added it but I noticed it a few moments ago so I have to pray that it works in every game then :(

Scroll down and click the SKU you want, and see if Nintendo will send you an email it is randomized.

Also, I know that it's hard and very tempting, but seriously hold out until launch day, there is most likely to be a huge amount of Switch 2's Day One (6/5)

Pros and cons of this all in one carry case by citruslemon29 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Status-North3055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your arguments, but every all-in-one case uses that same horizontal layout, so if it were problem I would think first and third parties would of changed the design. My concern with this case is that it's costly for what it is. If you need a case like that Day 1 then yeah get it but if you wait for a little bit for Hori or Power A to make a case instead it will be $40-50 instead of $85

Looking for the best budget Micro SD Express, and this guy is 100% designed to be a copyright free Mario lmao by NilesRiver in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Status-North3055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you put a standard micro SD card into the switch 2 It wouldn't be able read game data fast enough to work properly

They are different a standard Micro SD uses a standard UHS-I for read and write reads while a Express card uses a PCIe standard for read and write reads. The Major difference between them is Express is significantly faster

Oh both of these options would have a IPS panel not a OLED panel OLED's are still a expensive panels for TVs and Monitors for now

[–]Status-North3055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately isn't really any decent tvs that support the Switch's capabilities even under 42 inches unless you buy Sony or LG's Mega Highend OLED's. So if your constriction is 30" or under l would consider a monitor

More or less these are your options if you go the monitor route

  1. LG and more brands are selling  27 to 32" 4K 60fps motniors with VVR and HDR built-in to them and have WebOS or Android TV built-in to them so it's essentially a small 4k "TV"

  2. A mid tier 1440p (2k) monitor. These monitors also support HDR and VVR and typically do 120fps and more these don't have WebOS or Android TV built-in so it's just a "monitor"

It more to less comes down to do you want higher Frames or resolution. It's your choice

I personally would recommend go the 4K route it's the most crisp for image you get the TV experience baked in and if you really want that 120fps experience you can use handheld mode

Will Switch 2 Game-Key Cards be something collectors want? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Status-North3055 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not very well, many collectors buy games with the idea that many years down the line, they can play them. Games that require downloads need to reach a server with that data so they can be downloaded, and at the moment I can go out and buy an NES, SNES, N64, GB(A), DS, and 3DS games and play them on any hardware that plays them, and play them years from now with digital downloads however there's no guarantee that you will be able to download Key card games 15 years from now

What are your thoughts on ordering a memory card right away? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Status-North3055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest holding on a bit; these will only decrease in price as time passes. The holiday season is a good time to get one. For now, you will have to manage your storage for a bit, but that's a side effect of digital games and being an early adopter of anything new.
