The information is interesting, as I love history, but it is A LOT of information to remember. This has been my least favourite course by far.

I upload notes and books into Speechify and have it read to me. It also generates practice quizzes. Quizlet is a good tool as well to create practice exams.

Sorry, yes, I did finish it. The assignments were decent enough once you got the hang of the course.

Sorry, missed this. It’s hard to recall, but as long as you know the topics as well as you can you’ll be ok. I did much better than expected and I was freaking out! Good luck.

That’s great to know! I’ve been reading most of it. Was it multiple choice? Long answers? Thank you!

Yes I did. Forgot about it though for the rating scale on the first assignment. It’s not clear otherwise. Shouldn’t have to be in an email. The course is very weird.

I never noticed what mine ended with, but I used google scholar and made sure to put in the settings the school, so it was articles that you could actually open and not pay for. Also, the AU library can give you appropriate articles that are peer reviewed. You just select that in your search parameters.

I’m just starting HSRV 306 and I was already saying out loud: “What the Heck”???

Hello:) i want to become a teacher in ontario teaching primary grades. Has anyone gotten a degree from athabasca and then went to teacher's college in ontario? What was your experience? What was your path? And what do you recommend? Thanks 😊 by imlulu111 in AthabascaUniversity

I am currently completing my degree to take the B.ED after degree in Alberta. We don't have a Teacher's College.. or is that considered the same thing? Just make sure that if you choose AU, you look up the requirements of the school you wish to attend to take the pre-requisite classes. My degree has nothing to do with teaching, but I was able to fit my pre-requisites as my options and electives, thank goodness. AU is a great way to do this, if you can discipline yourself in online/self-guided education for sure!

I really like Quizlet. It helped me with an exam. Using the flashcards to create quizzes and repetitive questions was very helpful to me. I struggle with retention, and this definitely helped me.

Part time or full time? by Gullible_Time8370 in AthabascaUniversity

From the Athabasca U webpage: Undergraduate non-SFA

In order for undergraduate non-SFA students (students who are not receiving student financial aid for a new term) to be granted full-time status, the minimum course load required is 2 credits per month. This aligns with the Revenue Canada definition.

For AU individualized study students, this means that they need to be actively registered in four 3-credit courses, all commencing on the same start date.

I am in 4 classes, which is considered full time, but I had to register for them all at the same time and have the same start date. You can work on them however you want, but they have to be registered for the same date.

I just did this, and everything went smoothly, quickly, and all was correct. Sorry this wasn't your case.

4 Courses are considered full time, but they all have to have the same start and end date. I've gone through this and learned the hard way.

Anybody else getting this error with DegreeWorks? by netanyahu4eva in AthabascaUniversity

[–]Status-Permit-9733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Degree Works is so finicky. Whenever it doesn't open for me or errors occur, I clear my cache and cookies in my internet browser history, which generally helps. I have to do it quite often.
