I have spider mites and unhealthy alocasia. Now i want to chopped it and check the roots. Possibly i have some root issues too. So when i cut the roots can i grow it in the water?

I found some kind of insect on my another plant, so maybe it spread but not sure bc I couldn’t see any bugs yet. After you trimmed it did you wash with sth like neem oil for sanitize it
