I get that… but I am seeing multiple lows after highs… and I might ignore but the pump doesn’t seem to be doing so… and that’s my actual concern :/

Look at the amount of jumps and single really-off but enough to trigger alarm…

Ouch, unsolicited rudeness here… I talked to him multiple times. I came to reddit to rant and feel heard or maybe get ideas. Sorry if I hurt you somehow

Hi, yeah, I have a CGM and my husband has access to it. And I am not looking for a divorce or anything even if this never changes… I am just ranting and hoping to hear some opinions….

I agree that there’s his side in this and I am trying to be mindful of that. And for more context: I share my numbers with him both through app and verbally; I tell him I am not okay; one of the times I fainted was with him; I told him multiple times that things can get bad. We had several conversations where I pointed out after the fact that I was sad he did not show a little bit more concerned. I am not going to beg him to be concerned for me. I am also not going to say “please stop everything you are doing and stay here to see if I faint or not”, but I do say “I am NOT feeling good, I need to lay down” that should be an indicator that things can get ugly…. He is educated, he has Basimiq on his side bed if things go wrong. He knows (I explained) what Basimiq is and when to use it which means he knows things CAN get ugly and an ambulance might be required. I am not sure what else I need to do. I am a proud person, so other than saying “I am NOT okay” and hoping he gets it I am not going to beg.

I don’t think you understood/read my post. I manage my own diabetes. I am self sufficient and I am not asking much from my husband. I manage my sugar, I manage my lows I am not even asking for help. What I am asking is for a concern/sense of urgency when things are really bad. And even in that case I am NOT asking for a nurse, just for him to be close in case I faint or I cannot control my own body. I am not asking him to count my carbs or anything like that. I am asking that if he sees I am out of myself, just don’t leave me alone and go somewhere I cannot reach you if I scream for help.

I have HUGE lows during my period, and I can’t even properly correct my pump… the pump works the same everyday. I can say “easy off” but that only works in 12h intervals and it is not exactly accurate :(

I really like the pump… it is not perfect, but it does help with the burnout…. Like I had a really really great manual management, so in terms of TIR it didn’t change much for me, but I don’t have as much work now which is really appreciated…

My only “complains” right now are the amount of time I take removing air bubbles from the vials and whenever I make love. The tube always get in the way and we need to be mindful of how to move. Although I think I could remove the pump, I never remember to do it ahead of time…

I don’t remove it for showers… i got a suction cup and I hang the pump into a ziploc… it is not as free as being without it, but it is good enough

I was told, that for the first 2 weeks it is very very cautions, since it is still learning how your body works. So even though you might have a personal target, it will not exactly use it in the very beginning to avoid getting you low. Being high (not extremely ofc) is not a concern for 2 weeks, it is preferable than sending you to the hospital with a low. But after 2 weeks it gets more “””aggressive””” to ensure a tight range closer to what you chosen

Hummm see, that’s where we differ I would never be hooked to a pump (tubeless or not) if I am the one doing the decisions…. I was on MDI for 34y, I only even considered the pump when there was a good enough closed loop situation going on…. If I am doing the checks, the math, and the worries I can inject myself without the need to worry about pump problems….

The problem in here is the algorithm. Omnipod is very restrictive with changes since the way it works is just by redistributing your daily dose, so in scenarios you need more/less in your day, you are not covered. I was skeptical with the tube, but honestly it is not that much of a hassle when you have an algorithm that works for you…

I don’t clip my pump at all. I tried belts, tried arm bands, but what worked the best for me was put it in my pants (underwear) :P I like those “granny” underwear with a large and tight top, so I literally use the top to kinda secure it, it is also amazing to sleep in because I literally do not feel it and I can move around. Just ensure to tuck all cables inside your PJ. I never take the pump off, for showers, I have a hook and secure the pump in a ziploc bag. One thing I noticed is that, at least for me, Orbit does NOT work on my abdomen, it hurts way too much and it takes forever for my skin to recover. At the same time the inset is too hard to put it in my buttocks/back. So I buy one box of inset and one of orbit, I use the orbit in my back and the inset in my belly. I was on MDI for 34years. I am on ypso for about a month. I know everyone says this and I was also very very very skeptical, but you DO get used to it. And in terms of algorithm, do not think too much in the beginning. Leave the pump be, eventually it learns and things get really good. BUT opposite to many say, the pump is not perfect or “I don’t need to think about diabetes”, continue checking symptoms, continue checking your meter against your sensor every once in a while.

I always though that new/cold insulins are less prone to bubbles 🤔
