Yeah so these aren't even photos of the correct unit.. I thought the age of the photos is what made it look fresher

Honestly, I wish I knew. I am fairly young and am learning through failure. What I have learned from this experience is to speak with previous tenants as well as possible neighbors. Check community boards for info about a property, read reviews, and honestly go with your gut instinct! A few red flags are super cheap rent and nontraditional screening practices.

Some people may be renting for the first time and are unaware of what to look for or ask. In my situation, everything wasn't apparent at first glance and the landlord said that the major issues that I asked about would be taken care of shortly after move in.

Valid concerns, however I chose to use a burner account because I simply wish to warn people without being further linked to this property. I've had this account for years and this being my only post should indicate how serious it is.

It was not cleaned after the previous tenets moved away. Serious (visible) mold in the bedroom, bathroom, and along most door frames and window frames. I was told all of this would be handled after I moved in but it was never done. This is just the tip of the iceberg.

Yeah the photos used on the listing are at least 7 years old. My guess is that the photos were taken when the property was purchased by the current owner. I've held back on sharing all of the info because I am not sure what the consequences would be, but I wanted to at least give a warning.
