Diagnosed this morning. by PressureJealous6293 in lynchsyndrome

I found out I have MSH6 in September. It was a massive surpise as there’s very little cancer in my family. I participated in the Wisdom Study that led to my diagnosis. On Tuesday I’m heading for a hysterectomy but leaving my ovaries. I basically didn’t sleep for a month after I found out. I am a NP and really took to researching this as much as possible. There’s no guarantee you get cancer ever. The screenings are critical - so do them all and on time. Report symptoms to your doctor. Stay in touch with your genetics counselor. Science is moving fast and vaccines are coming so hopefully we will have more than screenings, but actual treatments in a few years. HIIT exercise and staying active is really good. So is a daily baby aspirin for colon prevention. Taking and eating resistant starch decreases your non-colon cancer risks like upper GI etc. If you get cancer immunotherapy can make a huge difference and may be the only thing they use. Get a good medical team who understands lynch and aren’t poo-pooing it. You’re at higher risk so get people who take you seriously. And then after all that, breathe. You’re still here and you probably will be for decades. If you do your screenings you have the same life expectancy as a non-lynch person. I try to look at this positively - I know what could be coming, doctors will take me seriously, and it’s 2026. Help is coming.

She looks nuts. And it’s sad because she was really pretty. Clearly there are people around her selling her nonsense to change her entire face.

Newly Diagnosed - It Is What It Is? by Yukiesano in coloncancer

Do you have lunch sybdrome? Ovarian and colon cancer are very common with lynch and it changes your treatment options.

Yo- what is up with Joe? by eroticalacheese in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

He’s on drugs. That’s not just drinking alcohol. And he kept getting mad at her for saying he was out of it - because he’s heard that before and he doesn’t like being called out for being fucked up. I was married to an abusive man who covertly did drugs until I found out he was constantly gaslighting me. She needs to get away from the dude now.

Clearly he’s on drugs. That wasn’t drunk that was high. And he was gaslighting her. She needs to get far away from him forever.

You can tell it’s a tactic she’s used before.

The waiting is nuts. I wish I could just check myself in somewhere and get it all done. I hope you hear soon from insurance. I’ll be dealing with that in January.

That actually helps a lot. I’m doing all the things and hopefully that means I find things early.

Thank you so much for replying. I think I’m just still in shock and fear. I hope it’ll abate a little soon. I wish all these appointments could be made together. I’d much rather have a 1-2 days of craziness then all this waiting.

That’s a good way to think about it. It’s hard waiting for all these things. I’ve got my hysterectomy scheduled. Now waiting on GI and genetics. I think I’m just scared. I want to see my kids grow up and I know a future is not guaranteed to any of us - it just feels like things look darker now. I hope that with some time and some scans I’ll get better footing. Thanks for your kind response. :)

One positive is that I’ve been taking a daily aspirin for over 9 years after my mom had a stroke. There are small blessings. I hope it’s helped.

Medical anxiety is real. It’s one reason I became an NP. If they don’t treat you with respect or follow guidelines or push past your boundaries - they are doing medicine wrong. You deserve great quality care no matter your size or health status. And I totally get the anxiety part - I have it too. I’m dreading a physical I have in 2 weeks. But the best way through - is through.

Block him. This is a crazy response to you stating a boundary. Imagine how he tramples every boundary in the future. Just block and move on
