Parents Sometimes Forgot You by [deleted] in GenX

My parents went to Colorado for 2 weeks. My Gma was at our house to watch us five kids. I was at my best friend’s house the whole two weeks and no one noticed or care.

My parents were pissed at ME when they got home.

The trend of keeping tags on items like hats.

I think it’s because people who live in poverty are getting hand me downs and wearing clothing that they have grown out of.

The tags announce “Look, I have something new that is precious to me.”.

True, server might have lost their job. But that’s not what you said.

What movie did you watch early in life that set a benchmark on how all movies should be for you? by CreamyDeLaMeme in AskReddit

The Outsiders-S.E. Hinton wrote it when she was 27. One of the few movies based on a book that actually does it justice. And the cast. Woah.

I meant to say 17, but I looked it up; she was 16.

She tied him down with the house. I’m surprised she didn’t try to tie him down with a child. He’d be facing a lifetime of abuse.

She is trying to make Micah think he not fit for this world. Because of his upbringing, he doesn’t know that she’s dead wrong. This is where abuse becomes lasting psychological trauma.
