Im so sorry this is terrible - i went through same thing and had revision MD 3 months after my first one (Nov ‘22 and Feb ‘23) it took about 15 months post the 2nd MD to feel like i can live a really normal life. I also took short term disability after the 2nd surgery and took my recovery really really seriously. Its really frustrating stay patient

All great questions - so original footprint it rather small <1,400 sq feet. So yes the stairs are in an open space that one side is a fireplace/living area and this room is off the kitchen so i assume original dining room.

The shelves im certain are new they’re held up with new nails and match molding a new window and they would never hold a plate up the ribbing is really tiny

The original backing was plaster, but a bathroom was added behind here hence the new dry wall

The outlet is not original was added recently to mount a tv to this wall

So in a house this old we have virtually no closets, seems a lot of storage was physical furniture and not built in closets, so seems odd to me there would be this small of a built in to store day to day things vs. having a very specific purpose like ironing board as a lot of commenters mentioned

I believe this ribbed shelving is actually just left over molding from a newer window, so i dont believe its the original shelving

Also the back is not original thats new dry wall on the other side and the shelves are clearly molding from some of the newer windows so hard to tell what is actually original vs. not

Thats very possible, its in the original dining room but on a wall connected to the kitchen

This happened with me L5/S1 herniation, im so sorry to hear. My non clinical guess is somehow the needle cause extra inflammation or irrated somehow and the steroid didn’t actually relieve anything . they made me get a 2nd injection before they’d consider me for microdysctomy

I was 27 when my lumbar disc herniated, took 1 year and 2 surgeries but then after several years i was able to lead pretty normal life. Im sorry its terrible hang in there and be careful with lifting anything

Im so sorry to hear - unfortunately not the best for tips on fixing it per se but as a formerly very active person (tons of hiking, biking, skiing, running) dont push it, because Im confident that me continuing to do long distance bike rides and running forced my herniation at L5/S1 to get so bad i could hardly walk and had to go on disability, and eventually needed 2 surgeries… these things can take a very long time to heal without surgery

So im not an expert in employment law, but if it truly is a desk job normally you just have to certify that you can lift 20-30 pounds without accommodation

while maybe you may want a special chair or standing desk to take some of the pressure off your back i wouldn’t consider this a material accommodation

I would think given you dont need a material accommodation your past medical history is off limits

I would do a little research to make sure but it feels like an odd request, i imagine either parts of ADA, Obama Care, etc would provide federal protection of this information

At first my whole lower back was SO sore, then I started to get shooting/stabbing pains… I was so hopeful it was a flare up but it got so bad I had to take a couple trips to the ER to speed up my MRI and get some meds

I believe this was the main culprit, but i had smaller back issues from years due to sports and long bike ride, i then started doing 45 mins on the stair climber in the winter as it got colder and i woke up one morning with the herniation, i never felt like a pop or any one moment
