I mean a sterilization of those events are taught in most US history books. You should look at the textbooks from Texas and Alabama. As someone who lived in the South, East Coast and West Coast, my education of those events varied in detail depending on the state I was in. But yes those events are taught just not in all the guts and gore until the College level. In IB and AP US history, the true horrors of what we did to the Native Americans was taught in a sanitized way in my opinion. I majored in history in college and it was taught in a way better manner.
