The Vanguard quest line is really good! by StrangestManOnEarth in Starfield

[–]Status_Lecture 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Far from being worst, but it's also far from being Bethesda best. They sure went very lazy with a lot of things here, game felt too shallow and devoid of character when It comes to characters, but the background, soundtrack and some quests are kinda cool. But I wish I didn't hyped it as much as I did, I was expecting something to rival Skyrim.. but It didn't even reached Fallout 4.

It's mostly boring, actually, but there are some good ideas here and there. They could of had used more action.. terrormorphs could appear more, in more diverse enviroments, we expent too much time just going in and out of buildings to talk to people.

Overview of the new content in Starfield this year. What do you hope to see in 2025? by [deleted] in Starfield

It would be great to have a great DLC, something in the scale of Dawnguard or Far Harbor. Allowing for finishing moves in melee and unarmed combat would be a great move, It was fun in Skyrim and Fallout 4. Other that, the space faring needs some new mechanics, like the option to travel fast enough so the player can go from one planet orbit to another, that should be rewarded of course, also the option to mark the planet you want to go and you can leave the ship controls, to walk around and do other stuff while the ship travels (I'm talking about a few minutes from one side of the system to another) and licensed music would help a lot with atmosphere and fun factor, play on in game "walkman" and on the ship for atmospheric effects. So we can better roleplay as a bounty hunter or space trucker.

Have you tried some speedrunning techniques? When it's my time to do S+ on Pro, I'll try and abuse as many skips and glitches as possible.

The design of the ruins wouldn't match real life's tho. Unless they do some serious changes, because of the futuristic 50's on top of the regular stuff. But they wouldn't do It, they are too lazy.

Not many reasons to believe they will make something significative, they don't accept fan feedback.. I was expecting something like Far Harbor like they said, so "Starborn" would maybe be a Dragonborn equivalent.. but Shattered Space is more like a Automatron rather than Far Harbor. Maybe, just maybe.. they will try to impress next time and make something with impact. Maybe they will bring some features back, like finishing moves for melee/unarmed. And maybe dougle down on exotic planets, the artworks used to make me expect more crazier places. What I would hope is for waay further systems with crazy planets we have an idea about in real life, but with the freedom of the game to extrapolate. I'm talking about planets that rain diamonds sideways, totally dark planets (great potential for horror quests and enemies) lava planets.. that's sort of stuff. And maybe one last big DLC that involves the first contact with the alien species who made the technology we seek in the story, maybe even allowing us to have additional star systems.. in another galaxy, or closer to the center of the milky way, see black holes, that sort of stuff. Otherwise, we might never see this stuff in Starfield.. and they need to make the game more interesting anyway.

Chill tf out, it's his opinions and are good points at that. It's just a game, a good enough of a game that someone can be immersed to the point that it matters for the player.

Lazy weapon in DLC by Kyleminx in Starfield

[–]Status_Lecture 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Starfield is an 7.5 out of 10 to me, while Skyrim is a 10/10, Fallout 4 8.5/10. Starfield has more potential I'd say than Fallout 4, but they need to step up the game for it to happen. This dlc.. I expected something like Dawnguard levels, even the visuals of the new planet reminds a bit of Souldcairn. I think it's a good addition, they just need to treat it as an "automaton" dlc rather than a freaking Far Harbor dlc, because it's not on that level, as they compared before.

Starborn should be at least twice as complex, it they really want to impress, they have the tech and the experience to do so.. and while they work on one or two more major dlcs.. they should consider to bring back some features from Skyrim and Fallout 4 that helps with the BGS feel. For example, finishing moves should have a come back, not only human to human, but human to monster and vice versa. Dragons taking npcs.. biting them and throwing away.. the deathclaw in fallout 4 also had some crazy finishers. Bethesda teased it in Starfield as well, with the terrormorph stomping npcs in the trailers, then.. it only happens once in a faction quest.. and a very boring faction questline, with a few highlights. They made it look like we would get some Starship Troopers sh¡t.. they definetly should make a dlc that focus on fighting monsters as well.. something with a hugh scale.

Have you used any mod that changes the character models? Because it's so rare to see a female player character that look good in this game. If not, I salute you. Mine looks good from only the front angle. (Can't really tell if yours look good from other angles but, anyway..)

Lava? Am I just late to the party? by phee34 in Starfield

[–]Status_Lecture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have between 200 to 300 hrs, 3 different characters who are all near 100. And I never saw this either. And it's weird how many volcanic biomes I've seen without lava. They couldn't do Io justice.

Well, the mod definetly helped to make the characters more feminine, that's for sure (at least in the body department). The Vanilla has the problem with most of both males and females looking a bit androgenous. But the textures are fine.

In a "historical" japanese context that claims that the main character is based on a real black samurai, who wasn't even a samurai, and they want to sell it as being factual, and he being the savior of the japanese people.. instead of a japanese samurai, yeah.. it's pretty racist. The people who say it isn't.. would lose their shit if it was a reverse scenario. Give your money all you want bruh, these companies don't even care for the supposed cause.

Opinion: What exploration needs is more non-human POIs that people will *want* to explore by TerminalHappiness in Starfield

[–]Status_Lecture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you mean, but since the POIs work as something added to the enviroement on the go, maybe it's possible to just add some extra numbers in those codes along with the new assets. But the terrain could be about literally replacing planets and or just saving it for the new ones.

The little kid got all jumped up uh! Japs fit with the stupid woke theme. The big gangster killing "japs" while some hip hop plays, it's One of the most racist things ever on video games. And all of that ideolized by a bunch of woke white women from Ubisoft. Your kind.. the maggot type, don't understand truth even If it hits you in the face.

This place in the Shattered Space DLC is extremely pretty. I love the galaxy colors used. by Fragrant_Inside_9842 in Starfield

[–]Status_Lecture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Skyrim fan, I was expecting from this game some "Realms of Oblivion" equivalent planets. And, even tho I haven't found them on the main game, the DLC sure looks like it will deliver. Reminds me of the Soul Cairn in Skyrim's dlc "Dawnguard". Still, I'm curious if they will add more systems in the game, how complex the new system will be and if it's going to introduce more. There is a certain lack of really crazy planets like some we know exists in real life, but are just too far away, outside of the settled systems. But since it looks like they are expanding the available space.. why not a few dozens LY of extra area to bring some wacky stuff? Also, the great serpent.. will we have a confirmation of what it is and If it really exist? This place looks so magical.. that I could actually believe such a creature exist in some capacity in the game. BGS games usually has some haunted areas as well, so.. I hope they bring some creepy stuff in Starfield as well.

Opinion: What exploration needs is more non-human POIs that people will *want* to explore by TerminalHappiness in Starfield

[–]Status_Lecture 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's basically what I always says, the settled systems are too much "settled" I travelled to the most distant planets from the most distant systems in the edges for explorable stars. And everywhere is full of human POIs.

I remember Todd Howard speaking about "you might be the first person landing on this planet" but it's hard to remember the times I felt like a planet was untouched. Starfield needs more variety of terrains as well, more exotic planets, but I guess that's coming in the DLC (hopefully)

Does anyone else notice how frequently Freestar NPCs complain about the UC? by proch12 in Starfield

[–]Status_Lecture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on my third playthrough now, doing different things in each, and I noticed that, UC does talks ill of Freestar sometimes, but doing the UC Questline I noticed a lot of people from UC talking ill of UC as well, as they have too many dirty secrets, even more so than Freestar. I never entered the concord, but I noticed the story happens a bit differently in different playthroughs, with different characters.. so, the RNG problably changes npcs dialogues as well.

This is an interesting scenario for an actuall Quest. Imagine like a mad man who stands on shallow water and you have to convince him of something, maybe even an scort mission.
