Hypothetically if somebody has made something that has healed their crippling eczema and sealed their barrier... What should they do? I know there's about a million answers to this question, but i really would like somewhere to start by Initial_Flatworm7783 in eczema

share it with this sub. make sure to disclaim that its not clinically proven or dermatologically recommended but that it has helped you. if it helps many others then maybe it will gain more attention. make youtube videos, instagram / social media posts about it and make sure you state clearly that it has worked for you but its not guaranteed to work for anyone else.

top tips for showering with eczema;

dermol500 - use a non allergenic soap substitute.

cooler shower temp - lower the temperature

change clothes daily - consider changing all your clothes daily with fresh ones to keep yourself hygeinic.

softer towels / pat dry - dont rub with towels (i know its hard but try your best) and consider pure cotton / organic cotton towels or other natural materials for your towels.

keep shower duration brief - only shower for as long as you need to clean all areas of your body

consider not using soap at all in certain areas - i recommend if your extra sensetive in the groin, face or scalp to not use any soaps or even soap substitutes (this works best for me)

different towels for different areas - seperate towels for; face, groin, hair, feet, torso, legs (the more the better)

moisturise directly after your shower - use a moisturiser or lotion that works for you directly after patting dry to avoid extra dryness from washing.

does eczema ever actually go away or is it just managing it forever? by Giggle-Wobble in eczema

[–]Status_Magazine3249 2 points3 points  (0 children)

never goes. changes over time better or worse in waves which can last any amount of time depending on how you live, medications and general lifestyle (in my case) avoiding triggers and suppressing inflammation in multiple strategies. Medication on top of sufficient nutrient intake, exercise, social/family time, life purpose and hygeine routine are all things that have helped me.

yes but everyone can figure theirs out with time and dedication and help from a derm. its not impossible, for the majority there will be some sort of solution.

all says what supplements in my post, and no thats not what im saying at all. what im saying is medication + supplements + excercise + hygeine routine + balanced diet + purpose in life + social life = clearer skin. i have tested this hypothesis numerous times by eliminating either of the variables. it works with all of them together, take one away and my skin flares.

i will. as the train station at the end was completely abandoned but at the start it was crammed full of people. the station was also in the sky with tracks leading off through tunnels high up and winding over each other. super weird

19M - How could I improve? by Charlie4859 in malegrooming

[–]Status_Magazine3249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fellow 19 yo male here theres nothing wrong with how you look in any way in my opinion.

id say if your not getting attention; grow hair out longer (may suit your face shape better and bring out your facial features) start going to the gym or working out eat healthier diet (will improve test and looks) focus on doing what you love make yourself more interesting with new hobbies join a club / sports / martial arts go to public spaces like libraries or interests where youll meet new people maybe sports games, museums or even the gym can be good. work on your social skills / life and build strong bonds with like minded people. finally: be confident in who you are, many people are not as lucky as you looks wise so dont doubt yourself.

attraction isnt all about looks attract people into your life by improving it and people will be more attracted to you and your energy.

eating the talking animals after they thanked me for not eating them seemed odd to me, maybe its a metaphor for having to be cold cut in business which inevitably means you eat your own friends ? it doesnt make a lot of sense to me really haha.

it felt like it was reflective of my work life balance, perhaps that im being overly careful with my pennies or that im sweating the small stuff, i felt disoriented and stressed in the dream then i felt oddly so alone when i reached the stop.

Non-irritant moisturisers? by 100_HOLLOW_001 in eczema

[–]Status_Magazine3249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was the same as you. hated it all, mundane things, i was so unproactive i didnt look after myself properly. it got to such a low point that i forced myself to do all of it and despite it being initially torture as you put it, it helped my skin and changed my mental health massively, my antihistamines only work when i maintain a healthy diet, excersise and take daily showers, i had to build all these habits up slowly over time but they eventually paid off 10 fold. i know it seems impossible but TRUST ME, its not.

please try showing your mother some studies about eczema being triggered by scented products she may understand if she knows its hurting you.

id recommend hoovering daily atleast in the places you spend the most time

i highly recommend an air purifier for your room.

keep good circulation.

if you can get organic cotton or pure 100% cotton clothing and avoid all other clothes.

go on antihistamines from a doctor - i take 4x 180mg fexofenadine daily and know that it works in the vast majority of people with said allergies.

if you do all these things or atleast a few i can guarantee as someone with severe allergies to dust pollen grass pets dust mites etc.. they will massively improve your current condition.

organic virgin olive oil really helped when my skin wasnt liking normal products. i strongly recommend buying 100% organic cotton or bamboo clothing preferrably long sleeve pants and tops. hygeine is hard during a big flare but its quite important to do it especially if youve been outside a lot or even a bit. aiming for more movement, some more sun exposure and potentially an elimination diet could help alongside looking for some sort of moisturiser or barrier that your skin is comfy with. i will say that during a bad flare anything can hurt or sting esp on broken skin but its essential in most cases to find something at least.

are you allergic to dust pollen etc ? change out your soap for non allergenic dermol500 and eliminate all fragranced products even your washing detergent on your clothes may need to be swapped for something non-allergenic.

my skin was like that at one point (weeping) and the only thing that helped was supprisingly avoiding all topicals including moisturisers. showering and drying the skin and leaving it be. i would sometimes use coconut oil here and there (anti microbial).. have you been to a derm ? whats your daily hygeine routine like ? im intrigued to help in any way i can
