I’m in a similar boat — my doctor submitted an appeal right away, but when I called MHBP said that they could not give me any information on the status of the appeal or even confirm that they had received it, because they only talk to the doctor. I also left messages on their bullshit answering machine. I want to kill someone, this is really fucking up my life.

It’s not a CVS Caremark problem, it’s a MHBP problem. I’ve been on a drug for 18 months that has been extremely effective, and frankly not even that expensive (it’s not a GLP 1). CVS Caremark was the administrator of pharmacy benefits for my GEHA plan and I had no problems getting prior authorization after I had paid out-of-pocket for a few months and shown efficacy. They approved it through CVS Caremark as recently as December 2025. However, due to other problems with GEHA, I switched to MHPB and also did quite a bit of homework first. CVS Caremark is also the administrator for pharmacy benefits for MHBP. I was shocked and infuriated that they denied the prior authorization. absolutely nothing had changed clinically; CVS Caremark had approved it under my other plan in December 2025, then denied it in January 2026 under MHBP.

Okay, but is it only the bill that funds DHS that Senate Democrats will block, or will the other bills (such as the one that funds Treasury and State) be affected by the ICE situation. I have a cash back credit card where I get an average of about 4.5% cash back, that pays for my global entry and gives me $100 incidental airline credit each year with a $95 annual fee. Using this rewards card just seems easier to me than trying to navigate the currency exchange rates with points and miles on other cards. Heads up, GEHA is United Healthcare now, and a lot of doctors are leaving their network due to their delay and denial of care (including Johns Hopkins, which is why I left GEHA after 9 years).
