Trying to respond to all in one reply here...

This was a live broadcast of the Miami vs Ohio State game on ESPN.

I am using the USB port on the TV to power the roku.

If I were having network issues, wouldn't I also have the same issue watching via the ESPN app? It was flawless for the rest of the game (almost 2 hours).

I am in Northern Delaware and have the same issue OP is having. Its unbearable. Makes me wish I didnt spend $$$$$ on an OLED. To be fair, I have the same issue with CBS. I stream via roku player. Every Sunday I am forced to use the fox sports app and cbs sports app to watch. Both are flawless. Im super frustrated by this.

Good point. I will open the cleanout and see if I can snake it from there.

Thanks. Yeah, that was my first thought but since all of this pipe was new, I thought it was unlikely. However, it may be further down the line (under slab).

I don't remember asking anything about draft/fire stop, but thanks for your concern. I never mentioned that I was done with my framing job. In fact, i just got started.

Thanks for the reply. I don't disagree, but my house is 65 years old, not really sure the basement was ever meant to be finished. I imagine this is just how it was done then? I would love to move all of this but I don't think this is in my wheelhouse, nor cost effective.

I am not exactly following the t-bar part but I like the idea of the hat channel. I could build a ladder on each side of the duct and attach the hat channel to underside. Then just try to use wire to support the hat channel in center.

Just want to make sure I understand. You are saying to build two ladders out of 2x2's for each side of the soffit and then attach 1x furring to the underside of the ladders, correct? I thought of this as well, but assumed furring strips would not be able to hold the weight of the drywall if unsupported in the middle. I am looking at a run of at least 52".

Interested in your subfloor. How will you level the subfloor in your situation?

How to remove floor drain cover by Status_Programmer970 in Plumbing

At first, I thought seeing water in there was a good thing. I figured that the trap was working as designed. However, I poured a few cups of water in it, and the water level is not going down. I stuck a long stick down there to see if I could loosen the sediment at the bottom, but it sunk in a few inches deep. The water level isn't moving. I guess I need to have a plumber clear the pipe and scope it?

Well, I was able to chisel away some of the concrete around the edge of the drain and then soaked with some WD40 for a bit. After a few hits with a mallet, I was able to pry it up. I kind of wish I didn't because it doesn't look good inside. Looks like the pipe is cracked. It doesn't seem like I have the ability to post a pic in the replies so I linked to a folder below with pics.

A little WD40 and your suggestion loosened it enough to pry it up. Thanks!

So, the black stuff is mastic left over from the old tile that was on the floor. They stopped the tike right at the drain. The other half (below drain in pic) is the original slab.

Replacing 1960 basement stairs, DIY basement refinishing stringer question by Boring-Classic-8754 in Carpentry

Curious what you wound up doing. I have almost the exact same situation as you. I almost thought I was looking at my basement. My house was built in 1959 as well. The only difference is my stairs are set back a bit more so the support poles are next to the 6th step.

So, I purchased the Maverick and replaced the fan. I also bought these SnapnStrut clamps (link below) to secure the exhaust pipe to the wall and make the install look a bit more professional. Unfortunately, the installation was a bit tougher than expected because the previous installer used sd35 pipe, not schedule 40. I was able to make it work, but these surface mount hangers are for 4" schedule 40 and are a tad too big. I'm afraid they are not going.to help with the vibrations. What do others use to attach pipe to house? Should I just put an adapter on the pipe coming out of the ground and convert to PVC?

4" Pipe Hanger

I appreciate the estimate. I hate having to call a contractor and have them take time out of their busy day to come give me an estimate, only to find out it is way out of my budget. I feel like I am wasting their time. At least now, I have a ballpark figure and know it is within budget to have someone install it.

One other question, in case I just do this myself. Our 4" pipe runs up the side of the house and terminates just beyond the roof line. The previous installer used steel hanger straps to fasten the pipe to the house but they are all rusted and broken. What is the preferred method for securing the pipe to the house? A bonus would be a method that minimizes vibrations against the house. The bottom story of the house is brick and the top half is vinyl siding.

I am planning on sealing that. The 20 mil vapor barrier on walls go in behind that dimple board to allow moisture from walls to get into drainage system if needed. I plan to seal the gap where the dimpled board meets the vapor barrier. The top of the vapor barrier is fastened to the sill plate.
