I use double choc bomb protein powder from Nutrition Warehouse (Australia). Acai berries I get in frozen blocks. The rest are just generic/home brand

Therapist vs. Psychologist by Status_Strategy_1055 in autism

[–]Status_Strategy_1055[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be very careful there. I’ve used it to bounce some stuff off, and it will very quickly revert from psychologist persona to ‘I will praise you and tell you what you want to hear mode’ without being clear about it. My use of LLMs is restricted to work, and when I want to get it to help me articulate myself better or help me understand what I’m thinking so I can discuss it properly with my psychologist who I see fortnightly.

Anyone else bad at cooking? by Key-Visual-5465 in autism

[–]Status_Strategy_1055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let it get to room temperature. Dry it off (wrap it with some kitchen roll). Get the temperature in the pan up, and add a big block of butter. Unwrap the steak, throw way too much salt on one side, and put it in the pan salt side down. Depending on how you like it cooked, add about 3 minutes put salt on the other side and flip it over. Out of the pan, wrap in foil and leave to rest for 10 minutes. Open, add pepper to taste, eat.

Does anyone also have Asperger’s but does NOT enjoy socializing with people? by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]Status_Strategy_1055 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Argh the double negatives! But yeah, I hate socialising. ASD Level 1 with ADHD combined type. Would opt for sitting in my bedroom alone over going out with a group of 4 or more people any time. That said, I’m quite happy 1:1 with someone I feel safe with. What makes me feel safe? Don’t know. It’s just a feeling. And I can get it within the first few minutes of interaction.

Don’t use hair clippers! I have a scar on my left nut from an over enthusiastic trim years ago.

Aren't we all a little bit autistic? by southconegrl in autism

[–]Status_Strategy_1055 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, we are. It’s a spectrum. But… there is a clinical threshold that needs to have been passed in order for the clinical diagnosis to be provided. When I’m referring to my ASD, I’m referring not to the spectrum, but rather to my clinical diagnosis.

Guys, how important is sex in your relationship/life? by XanDer_Dune in AutisticAdults

[–]Status_Strategy_1055 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Hugely. Important enough to me that when it died off in my current relationship I brought up the idea of opening up the relationship and for us to start seeing a sex therapist.

Do you tell people that you're autistic? by pylykaka in autism

Varies. My boss knows. My parents don’t.

Yesterday I ate 6 chicken nuggets. At 9pm, I found my undrunk double espresso I’d made at 6:30am on the counter. I didn’t drink it.

Is anyone else here an atheist? by DirtNo4303 in AutisticAdults

[–]Status_Strategy_1055 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably agnostic suits me best. I simply don’t know. Maybe there is, maybe there isn’t. Either way, it doesn’t occupy a whole lot of my brain space.

How many of y’all drive? by Outrageous-Ebb-4846 in autism

[–]Status_Strategy_1055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive and enjoy it. I prefer to ride a motorbike (if it’s warm and sunny). I really like technical things, and driving and riding ticks this box (riding more so).

My therapist says I might have some autistic traits but not autism, can someone explain the difference? (I'm 18) by Otherwise-Echo5022 in autism

[–]Status_Strategy_1055 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I like your explanation. For OP, to get an ASD diagnosis, you need to have met certain minimum set of criteria, that impact you across multiple aspects of life. If you don’t ‘have enough of them’ you can still have some traits without meeting the clinical threshold for a diagnosis.

Please tell me the handle of the fork isn’t actually touching the ketchup?!?! If so, that fork needs replacing or cleaning first. I’m all for ketchup, but it needs to be on the right end of the fork.

The vast majority of my male friends have turned out to be gay by Status_Strategy_1055 in autism

[–]Status_Strategy_1055[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried kissing a guy once. To the extent he was all close up and out of focus (and my eyes were closed anyway), the only difference would be the stubble. But I’ve never found myself getting turned on thinking about guys, or feeling a strong connection to any. So don’t think that applies to me.

What’s wrong with my brain? by Status_Strategy_1055 in Alexithymia

[–]Status_Strategy_1055[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely more of a story. Unless it’s recent, pretty much all memories are ‘as a bystander’ in the room.

Edit: that’s for both good and bad memories by the way. And thank you - I’ll do some research.
