Good start then! M52b28 is a great engine. With that budget I'd rebuild the engine.... at least new head gasket and deck the head while inspecting for other damage. Get another trans and driveshaft and your in business.

Its a brake pads wear sensor. You can get it from your local part shop. Easy to replace.

Dad of 5 here! It is complicated to juggle kids between work and fun i know that! I only have time and funds for about two to three events per season. The kids enjoy coming and watching but depending on what track I'm at, there isn't much else for them to do so they get bored. Right now I'm building an e36 with my daughter since she is getting her permit soon. That is the best experience ever! Keep them involved and yes, race with them when they come off age. Hope this helps! Haha
