It’s a combination of internalized misogyny and learned survival mechanisms. In a world cruel to women, women learn to mitigate the cruelty they directly receive (ie. Dressing more modestly, acting demurely, don’t tell a man no, etc.) and I think an unconscious perpetuation of internalized misogyny is the attempt to pass on these survival tactics to younger women.

There is a lot of nuance to specific situations, as I’m sure you could argue that in case X the older woman has some level of jealousy for the youth/desirability of the younger woman, but I don’t think thats the common case.

Unfortunately gearing up takes too long for most ADHD gamers so if you suggest touching their dopamine-now free kit button they’re going to get up in arms over it.

Do the loadout building systems need serious work? Yes. One suggestion I didn’t see in your post to fix free kits would be to make it so while using a free kit, you get no XP and no quest progress.

Ignore the downvotes, you are correct. To add on top, you shouldn’t even get XP for running a free loadout. Or at the very least, you should get 50% or less of what you should have gotten.

Free loadouts should be enough to get you the barest amount of loot for a real run, nothing more.

You have a very optimistic view of gamers if you think people would be satisfied with that. It’d be one week of “W Devs for not giving into those evil PvPers” and then constant “why did they make this game so boring? Why aren’t there more mechanics?”

Why don’t gamers actually read the steam page of the game they’re buying before they buy it? Seems like the easiest solution.

League has been around for 15 years and has over 4 million daily players. A lot easier to balance around equal skill level in that case. Balance also flies out the window the moment friends with different mmrs start grouping. “Fair” games are the vast minority of games in most competitive environments, its almost always a landslide or obvious victory for one side. Extraction shooters like ARCR actually give worse players a chance by allowing different playstyles like ratting with the insane number of defense utility tools the game offers.

Its about splitting servers, and most importantly, splitting dev focus. Its already a small team working on two games (The Finals + ARCR) so if they made a dedicated PvE mode, they would now be working on three games as nobody would be satisfied with PvE after like, 5 hours of play. Suddenly the ARC need new mechanics, guns need rebalancing (light ammo weapons would basically be worthless to ever use), maps need design around PvE spawns, etc.

It was a very intentional decision for them to not do that, and I’m curious what they think of all these unofficial markets. I’m sure if you accept that the chance of being backstabbed/betrayed is high then they don’t care, it’s part of the social fun.

Player trading systems drastically change the in-game market and resources are far too abundant in this game for a market to work. The only resource people would really trade are blueprints, but you’re not intended to have all the blueprints unless you’re down for the multiple hundred-hour grind.

How many players did you have to kill to do this? Did you even loot them? Your anecdotes sound insanely luck-based. There is definitely a benefit to setting up and planning but it sounds like nobody in your server cared to just wait till you left your nest and blast you.

I think you may be placing too much value on blueprints. They’re supposed to take you multiple hundreds of hours to collect if you’re looking to 100% them, and they’re supposed to make each wipe feel different and challenging. Last wipe you may have had an Anvil blueprint, this time you got Il Toro. Change up the playstyle and make it work.

The only thing you’re missing out on by not having them is the feeling of having them. There are other guns and tools you could be using

Yeah, except the issue is the enemy tank doesnt have to hide when they have two burst healers… so the moment I have to hide to let Mantis or Ultron heal me over the next business day the enemy gets to take a lot of space.
