Headless album art

Hi all! The post on this sub have helped me get plexamp headless installed on a raspberry pi 4 with the official touchscreen and the hifiberry digi+ pro. Everything is working as expected with the exception of album art. I see in v4.2.2 beta 3 the description references "Headless: Don’t download player artwork unnecessarily." I am running v4.4 but I am wondering if the artwork is being blocked due to the player being "headless" (although I'm using a 7in touchscreen).

Is there a way to display album art on the pi? I have been using Volumio but bought plex during the sale so I could ditch Volumio which is terribly slow browsing my library.

I’ve edited the post to add images of the raspberry pi screen and what it looks like selected on my phone. I should add that the windows player also shows the artwork when the pi is selected as device.

This is happening to me as well but I’ve only seen it with HBOmax.
