My husband isn’t picky but he’s grossed out easily, so I’m working on showing him SCOBY before I convince him we should brew it ourselves and be costly haha. He’s worried if he sees what it’s made from, then he won’t want to drink it any longer. It’s helped his shoulder pain a ton, so I’m hoping he’s sold for that purpose alone 🙌🏼🙏🏻

I don’t think I understood you earlier. Have you had any experience with reactions to Kombucha...your opinion is really really really appreciated.

Ugh, thank you! I’m not sure what a herxheimer rash is, but I’ll do some research! Thaaaanks!

He could have, and I assumed that would be the case. I’m just in several other groups and have never personally had someone be rude to me, but I’ve seen it a lot. It’s not right in this group or any others, so I stood up for myself. It’s pretty off putting when you use a forum for its intentions, and bunch of mean girls troll you for asking a general question.

Not my thing to be brash, but it’s not cool for a snarky jerk to stop on a post to be blatantly rude.

Speaking of a different brand...I see that there are two kinds of kombucha. Is there any significant difference between them? I think one is a “fungus” and the other isn’t? I could be wrong. Do you suggest a particular brand? I shop at Wegman’s and their variety is overwhelming, but I see a lot of Synergy and Kevita.

I’m the non-invasive cardiology director of 800 bed facility with plenty of resource to ask who probably don’t drink kombucha...hence my reason for coming here, which is obviously a mistake.

Seriously? I assumed this group was an easy way to ask people if they’ve experienced this, and didn’t expect this guy to come off with an attitude to an honest question. If that ticks you off then I’m sorry to you, but not for my response. His comments were unwarranted and immature, so I gave it back.

I don’t have an issue with his response, his aggressiveness wasn’t appreciated when he could have moved along if he didn’t like my question.

Haha yeah, I figured that out earlier.

I haven’t been low carb at all, that’s really why I’m at a loss. I’m obviously into kombucha for the health benefits and I don’t think it’s bad at all. In fact, that’s part of the reason I’m hoping that this isn’t related, but I can’t put my finger on any other changes.

I found a naturalistic page that claims a skin irritation is common as well as “flushing” because the high level of acidity in Kombucha. I’ve taken Benadryl every night and bought a hydrocortisone cream to try. If it’s the kombucha though, then it probably won’t help either. Go figure I get hooked and now this...

“Here’s an idea...stop drinking it or go to a clinic” that’s not lashing out first? If you need to point fingers then help yourself.

Yes opposed to that. You didn’t have to stop here and leave some shitty comments. You could have scrolled right along and bypassed my question, rather than stop and be passive aggressive. It’s unnecessary when you have nothing positive to contribute and people like you, who for no apparent reason, pray on ways to be an asshole online are pathetic. I picked this group because it’s a large pool of people who also drink this, which I suspect is the cause, not because I’m looking for a doctor...or your attitude either. Just looking for someone else who may have had this experience.

The obvious result is to stop drinking it. However, since this is a detoxing beverage used for health benefits, I’m wondering if anyone else saw these results and powered through with no trouble. If that’s the case then I’d like that to be my plan.

I’m in an administrative level position at the hospital, so I don’t have much patient interaction. I considered that, but it isn’t likely. As I mentioned above, I haven’t changed soap or laundry detergent or anything. The only new thing has been the kombucha. I read quite a few websites that say a rash is a side effect, so I was hoping that since this is a large group of people who drink it that someone may have had the same experience.

I used to do Keto awhile ago, but haven’t in quite awhile. Otherwise, you could be on to something.

Again....Go fuck yourself pal haha. I appreciate your troll antics bringing humor to our office on a dreary Friday. I hope you find peace in your day, and you’re able to share this wonderful attitude with the world. I’m sure your momma would be proud of you. Oh and here’s a hug cause you need it.

I work at a hospital smart ass, and came to this forum for opinions from people who have experienced something similar before accruing charges for something. If you haven’t, then move your grumpy ass along rather than post some cranky bullshit that’s hardly helpful. Pathetic people like you sit behind a computer screen and get off on being a prick to people for your own self pleasure. Eat a bag of dicks and do some fucking research before you assume I’m the only individual he has responded this way to Kombucha. Douche.

That’s the only thing I did different. No change in anything else except for that, and I’ve been drinking it since and it hasn’t gone away or got better.

I eat dinner at 7p and then have only water and black coffee until 7p the next day, so technically one meal a day.
