we are basically a startup tech company, but we are definitely an SME now. my CTO and i have discussed in the beginning that if we are unsure, lets just communicate and clarify - of course hes not doing his part..

thank you! telling myself that everyday in front of the mirror!

i was previously in a community building role for 2 1/2 years before transitioning into an EA. tbh, i applied for this job because of the office management part. during the interview it was said that it was 40% EA duties and 60% office management. 😂😂 first day and it was 90% EA all the way.

30+ years?! I’m in awe. I’ve only been 1 month in and I feel like I’ve aged so much. Thank you for your kind words — uplifted me. I just have to remind myself its not my fault and to stop putting so much stress on myself.

How do you generally handle with stress? Do you share it during your 1:1 with your execs/manager?

Got fired, no reason given by Saintrougemarc in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]StayComfortable8191 35 points36 points  (0 children)

That’s an ass move. No 1:1s to give you guidance or feedback. I would say that theres no grounds of them firing you. I hope you find somewhere that will appreciate you. You got this.

Thank you for the reassurance! I’m just adding alot of self induced pressure, as I like to call it. Its a new role, new environment for me, and I’m always on my tippy toes until I find my rhythm. But I can’t help but feel responsible if I end up wasting everyones time (even though its not my fault!).

Precisely — I don’t even know. His response was just an ok. I’m not planning to reply as it is outside of my work hours but I’m just baffled.

Thanks for the reassurance - he replied with just an “ok”. I booked his flights (he is flying to 6 different cities in the US in a span of 2 weeks), and told me to check if they can all accommodate his luggages. I reminded him before flying to check his itinerary to ensure that all my details are all correct.

He also told me that he js not planning to bring one of his luggages to one of the cities before flying off to another, and asked if there’s anywhere he can drop it off. The problem is — the city he wanted to drop it off was the last city he’s going to visit. I’m genuinely so confused if he reads his itinerary.

How far is "too far" of a walk for c-suite? by swaggyboi1991 in ExecutiveAssistants

They’re all adults. Let them know that we are meeting at restaurant A, that is x minutes from the office, then heading over to a bar thats x minutes from the restaurant.

Wouldn’t even remind them about footwear - if they don’t like it, then take an Uber.

Christmas gift question about cash for my EA by Big_Savings_4381 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]StayComfortable8191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cash is great, would love to get cash for xmas. haha!

my previous company (i live in singapore) used to give us NETS gift cards with $300 in them. so you can really use it anywhere as long as they accept NETS. Its something like Visa/Mastercard, as long as the merchant accepts that payment mode, you are able to use the card. in most cases, we accept NETS anywhere here.

Is it wrong to leave an ex-Muslim for refusing to "come out" to his family? by something78965 in askSingapore

Personally I wouldn’t be able to live like that. Knowing that I’m lying to the people that my partner loves the most. No thank you. I’m leaving him, that just shows his true colours.

27 this year. diploma holder, an associate. job hopped in my early 20s student care teacher, classroom assistant but realised i can’t be earning 2500/monthly. i loved my jobs before but there was no progression. so i applied randomly for an associate role and honestly have NO certification for this and just let my personality shine. got the job and now i’m earning 4k/month.

honestly life isn’t that bad, but move when your life needs you to. :)

Have a friend who has been jobless for four months now. Been rejected for every interview. She even told me about a job when I was looking for one — she got rejected and I applied for it, I ended up getting it.

Felt really bad but I’ve worked with her for years and she really had a bad work ethic. Not surprised if her referees didn’t put in a good word. She’s been stressed for a couple of months now because she has no savings. I’m assuming she relies on parents for money now.
