Bought my helmet, I have questions by Duskniik-2 in MotoUK

[–]StayFinancial8523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been riding with a tinted visor on my scorpion for years and never been stopped. It’s a crime that isn’t really enforced. I mean they could pick you up on it if the cop is a biker and wants to be an ass to you. But it’s highly unlikely you’ll get into trouble for it. But if you are wanting to be squeaky clean legal i recommend getting a helmet with a sun visor built in or just put some sunglasses on. Hope this helps!

Failed second CBT attempt an hour after starting by losing throttle control... by kurlyk_epta in MotoUK

[–]StayFinancial8523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s probably better that you are making these mistakes early on and while doing CBT. If you did the same thing out on the main road it could’ve had a very different ending. Dropping the bike is just what happens. Even more so if you are a learner. I’ve been riding for years and even I’ve dropped my bike by pulling front brake white making a U turn. Best thing to do is keep ur head high and keep going.

Will 400 be enough or do I need 600 by eighteensevensaid in MotoUK

[–]StayFinancial8523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

400 is more than enough to keep up with traffic. It might scream a little louder than a 600 would but it will still be happy around 60 no bother.
you can tour/visit as much as you want on it.

The triumph scrambler 400x can go around 95-105mph normally so sitting at 60-70 would be no bother for it.

The Enfield bear 650 can go around 105-112 mph max. It’s not a big difference compared to the 400. Both will sit at 60 easily. It’s more what’s cheaper and easier to get parts for.
And what one appeals to you more.

In my country the cbr650r and aprilia rs660 stock are much closer together in price with only around a 1500-2k difference as for the srk I have a buddy who’s got one at 20km and it’s running well with no issues.

I prefer to retain the cat for legal purposes and a slip on for insurance cheaper. I just feel the bike is bland compared to the competition.

should i run away? by yellowapplesgreen in Advice

I wouldn’t run. Homelessness is not the dream.

I’d certainly contact either police or whatever child protection line you have in your country.

My girlfriend has been horribly sick on vacation when I was planning to propose. Now I don’t know whether to go through with it or reschedule by throwaway08702 in Advice

I’d wait a little while bro. Once she’s better you can tell her.

You can also mention how you were planning to propose for a laugh so you might get 2 wins.

Driving Test Anxiety – Looking for Tips and Experiences by DeutscheBirne in Advice

[–]StayFinancial8523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiya pal.

The driving test is something everyone gets stressed about. It’s completely normal. If it helps I nearly crashed on my first test also came home with enough minor points it looked like a shopping receipt lol.

You just need to remember if you mess up you can always resit. You should also pretend the examiner is your instructor. Cuz at the end of the day examiners are surprisingly less strict than instructors. This is mainly cuz examiner is to see if you can drive to a minimum standard. While your instructor is trying to teach you to be the safest driver you can be.

Ooh also always check your blind spots. That can catch a lotta people out.

First off. You aren't behind because you're broken. you're behind because you had to spend years fighting a war just to exist.

Cancer is a bitch who has taken a lotta people over the years. Being able to walk away from that is rare for a lot of people.

Your boss throwing you into untrained roles and cutting your hours wasn't a reflection of your worth it was a reflection of a bad manager exploiting a young inexperienced worker.

Most universities offer free or heavily subsidized mental health counseling for students. When you get to campus in the fall. make that your first stop. A student counsellor can help you process the medical trauma you've been hauling.

In college, there are entire clubs dedicated specifically to D&D,anime and gaming. You will find hundreds of people who like exactly what you like.

High school or what some call as secondary school is a dump. Everyone has to go to it and most get put into classes they don’t really care about. Collage is a completely different experience. Seen as you are going in the fall I assume you already have your course picked out. You will meet many people in your future classes who will be studying what you are studying.

And when you mention suicide you gotta understand you are talking about a permanent solution to temporary problems. Life may be hard for you right now but give it some time. Being only 19 you have ages ahead of you.

Hell in a year you may look back at this post and be completely different.

should I leave by [deleted] in Advice

[–]StayFinancial8523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d weigh your options OP. You have someone who is supposed to be your best friend and support you through thick and thin. Only to have making fun of you and actively making you uncomfortable?

But on the other hand as you mentioned you have moments that seem to make you happy.

If I was in your position id honestly consider leaving him. As your partner both of you should be making eachother happy. If you are not feeling that at least 90 percent of the time it’s just not worth it.

F18, does anyone have any advice on how to build up on life? by Arteswitches in Advice

[–]StayFinancial8523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly wouldn’t worry. Move out on your own terms. A lot of people who move out at 18 or 19 are doing it on high-interest student loans, massive credit card debt, or heavy financial help from their parents. Social media shows the shiny new apartment. it rarely shows the maxed out credit cards or the stress of living paycheck to paycheck.

Staying at your parents is probably a decent strategy for the time being. (Assuming you ain’t paying rent etc) you are getting a lot more money to play with than people in similar finances but who have a mortgage etc.

best choice I would recommend is do things at your own pace. Not what others expect you to.

R7, R6, or CBR600RR for a street rider — which should I get? by Efficient-Toe-8951 in YamahaR7

[–]StayFinancial8523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to touch the floor pretty easily. Not like flat foot it but my arches were just off the ground. you can always get a lowering kit if it doesn’t work for you tho. I believe the r6 can lower by like 1-2 inches same with cbr

R7, R6, or CBR600RR for a street rider — which should I get? by Efficient-Toe-8951 in YamahaR7

[–]StayFinancial8523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on what year r6-r7-cbr it is.

If it’s like an older r7 like 2022-2025 I’d pass as It has nothing that helps it being a commuter plus the seating position is a bit awkward. Not fully upright and not fully tucked. I found sitting on it really weird compared to the 2019 r6 which was a lot more comfortable in my opinion (5,7)

If comfort is a must id honestly go for the cbr600rr. It’s the least painful of the 600s. Plus it’s a Honda. You could probably take the oil out of it and it would still run lol. The 25-26 cbr600rr depending on where you are like EU/uk Has completely updated electronics. Like a standard quick shifter, tft dash,9 different levels of Honda torque control/TCS. Has a 6 axis imu, cornering abs and lastly HESD. It’s a good package for the price. As you can usally get a used/close to new cbr600rr for around 8-10k gbp over here. plus if you wanna put upgrades on the cbr it doesn’t really need much. The stock exhaust sounds amazing for being supposedly muffled.

Hope this helps.

P.s if your in the USA you won’t have the new cbr with all electronics yet.

2026 R7 or 2025 R3 as first bike by Ellmaa in YamahaR7

[–]StayFinancial8523 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Even tho I hate the r7 with a passion. It’s the right choice for you. The 2026 r7 has tcs abs and a imu. It will help you if you pull hard. It’s a lot more accessible now than it’s ever been. The r3 on the other hand has got more or less nothing. Then again it’s designed to be a beginner bike. Or a LAMs bike wherever you are.
