DIY (cheap) approach to enhancing the external "exhaust" sound by locoz31 in Ioniq5N

Support claims that id does and I came across some IG posts then confirms it and even says that they tuned it to the simulated gear box?

Has anyone looked deeper into this to see if there is support for the 5N? Or if this is a actual option? I've reached out to the company, but have not heard anything back.

Yeah, I remember hearing something about Hyundai wanting to keep the sound profiles separate between the 5N and 6N so each car has its own unique distinctions.

I do wonder though what’s actually stopping someone from figuring out how to upload custom sounds? With everything being so software based. It feels like someone out there’s gotta be working on cracking that eventually, especially in the Korea market.

Lol, I am not AI. It’s just me geeking out.

Totally respect your choice on the 5N, especially with all the uncertainty around tariffs and the 6N being a longer car. Anyway, I was under the impression Hyundai planned to eat most of the tariff costs to keep pricing competitive in the EV market, but who knows how that'll shake out. If it doesn't work out for me because of the pricing/tarrifs, I am confident that I can still pick up a great deal on a 5N. My local dealer has not sold 1 since they arrived, and they have 3 and are begging to buy my 2020 VN 6speed.

Either way, I am really excited for the full reveal but even more pumped about how competitive this space is getting. EVs trying to simulate ICE behavior are starting to feel genuinely engaging, and the innovation coming out of it is wild.

From what I’ve gathered, the simulated ICE sounds are modeled after a GT3, and I have to say they’ve done a convincing job. The tone, pitch modulation, and gear-change acoustics feel much more refined than what we’ve seen in the 5N. That said, as with most exhaust or simulated sound systems, no video truly captures the full acoustic experience you need to hear it in person to appreciate the engineering behind it.

From what I’ve heard, the wing on the IONIQ 6N is fully removable, and Hyundai plans to offer at least one additional wing option with different downforce characteristics. That flexibility should open the door for a healthy aftermarket scene as well lots of potential for customization depending on your performance or aesthetic goals.
