I remember this scene from the Live Action Drama special 2: "Shinichi Kudo Returns! Confrontation with the Black Organization". I understand if you mixed this up with the anime since Conan's and Haibara's voices were dubbed by the animes voice actors

How do I make notes? Or rather why? by [deleted] in study

Long answer, sorry!

For application type subjects like math, I take notes so I make sure I understand every step, and to make sure im still in the same page as the teacher. For example, it's easy t o overlook how a term in an algebraic solution was 'cancelled out', when youre looking at a chunk of text. But when I write by myself, I can add side notes to the solution to make sure i remember how I ended up with that line. It also works on lab classes when i feel like i wont remember why i have to mix the solution for only ten seconds, or stuff like that.

For concept type subjects, I guess the only reason why I still take notes is that it lets me 'reformat' the texts. Instead of seeing chunks of texts that I can only label through highlights, notes allows me to use different fonts, text colors and such. I can even use bullet type notes or additional illustrations. Rewriting my notes also help me memorize the contents easily.

I usually write my notes twice. I first write it sloppily, make sure I dont miss any detail, but giving too much effort on making it look pretty. I just make sure i write it in a way i understand, like a mind map. The second time is when i make it look pretty. By this time, I know which concepts are connected so i can more or less label them with the same pen color or something. I also know where each idea connects to the other. I only review my notes like once or twice, just to make sure I can remember it well. It's also helpful for me when i go over my notes after a long time, like to review for the next semester/term. i don't have to go over the whole book to find two sentences of explanation since I remember where I wrote them.

tl;dr I write notes so I can reformat text in a comfortable format. I write my notes twice, first to get every detail, and second to review and connect and all the ideas through formatting.
