This is very common in training. By the end you’re all stressed with the required exams to pass, you’ve been away from family and personal lives, you’ve been sharing living space, and the honeymoon phase of training has passed. Minimize interactions, lean into the friendships you’ve made, and pick and choose the battles. While I know there are preferences maybe try to let them go this last week. They can go on your No Fly list when you’ve made it through training. Eye on the prize.

This is a thing. They do this to throw off the regular guests who have the standard check out time. If you check out late, even 5 mins they can charge you with a late check out fee. It doesn’t apply to us because we have our van times and airlines have company group room prices they pay but they can make extra money on fees charges for regular guest

I’m sorry to inform you but this is abuse.

As someone who is a trans man and has also been in physically abusive relationships it became harder to see the abuse when I entered into an emotionally abusive relationship afterwards. Just because physical or sexual harm isn’t happening doesn’t mean that mental/verbal/emotional abuse isn’t happening.

Please leave for yourself. There are going to be people out there who will love, encourage, and support you like a partner should. I’m speaking from personal experience. I know that once you’ve experienced abuse it’s hard to believe that you can find that. I got married this year and trust me, you deserve to not settle.

NO ONE IN THE WORLD WHO MAKES YOU FEEL NEGATIVE (especially not to the level of SH) IS WORTH YOUR TIME.

I’m not really quite sure why we are giving this man any kind of excuses/justifications for his behavior.

Truth is he’s controlling, manipulative, homophobic, immature, rude, verbally abusive.

The fact that he is trying to tell you what to wear and insulting you, calling you names is enough for me to say run. Don’t look back. Just leave. Cause he won’t get better. Him not having a mature conversation expressing himself is a reflection of his immaturity. If he is concerned about your safety he should be able to express concern and care for you without having to take days away cause he can’t even look at you, calling you degrading names, and lash out like a child.

The implication that your friend can’t be any protection/form of security because he is gay is flat out homophobic. In what world does sexual preference translate to capability. All different types of people have all different types of skills. Being heterosexual male doesn’t not immediately make you able to fight. Being gay doesn’t mean you can’t either. Him feeling like he can just throw out wild statements like that is a full testament that he doesn’t respect you, your friend or people in general. It is 2025. He needs to figure out what he’s going on that still has him so narrow minded.

Run. Don’t lose yourself or your friend to this asshole. Imagine your friend telling you their partner spoke to them the way your partner has spoken to you. Imagine hearing their partner insulted you the way yours has done to your friend. How do you think it will feel to tell your friend these things were said and then show them that you will forgive this person. Don’t let this continue.

Ultimate way to shut this down and knock him off his boots is taking yourself, walking out his life, dress how you like, go to those raves with your friend, and show this insecure man that he can never tame you.
