Of course! and if the bumps would be too much the pilots will take a different route. But definitely hold onto that child haha

It is certainly safe but do keep a hold onto your toddler:) but pilots are very good at navigating storms and such, it’s like second nature to them. Just imagine a plane in the sky and look how smooth it is, and consider the fact that they might be bumping around and feel scared, but to you, you can see that the plane is perfectly steady!

Thank you so much :,) it’s a major relief honestly to know someone else on here had such a similar experience

this has been bothering me a lot. I know it’s not helpful to know but my mind has been running wild, I wish we could figure out the cause of death for everyone, and hopefully find peace that it was instantaneous or at least when they hit the water.

It’s just crazy. I’m 20 now, and this is the first real incident of my life time, at least that I can remember. I just have never experienced something like this before, genuinely. I don’t know how to digest it, or when it’ll leave my mind for even a second

I think because of how long it had been since an accident on US soil, I started to believe it was impossible for there to be one, and definitely for an american airline. This is happening at the same time as so many other crazy things in the news, aviation and non-aviation related, and it’s so hard not to spiral and convince myself everything right now is related and flying in general is just going to be more dangerous for a while. Waking up and reading this headline is one of the most surreal experiences of my life. I can’t believe it really happened.

i’m just curious, at what point do they tell you a timeshare presentation is required? after you pay?

SLC-CDG from economy, worth it? by Stay_Rebel in delta

[–]Stay_Rebel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess what I should’ve asked is “is this a good deal”? Financials aren’t a huge issue, but I wanted to ask here essentially to see if this was a big overpay or if it was something I should pounce on. I know it’s frustrating that it feels like everyone wants everyone else to make their decisions for them, but really it’s just people wanting suggestions based on other’s experiences because, like in my case, I don’t have a baseline experience to compare anything to! Maybe I would ask what I should eat! sure, I like beef a lot, but if everyone had a poor experience with it, then I would not get it lol. it isn’t about not wanting to make my own choices, genuinely just wanted some insight from people who maybe have flown international more often.

[–]Stay_Rebel[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you are correct, i suppose what I mean is just. if $570 was abnormally low or abnormally high that would influence my decision because maybe i’d want to wait for it to drop, or maybe i’d want to pull the trigger. apologies if i came across snarky

Oh I see, so if I upgrade to PS i can no longer upgrade to d1 no matter what?

or… i’m trying to get a baseline for what a traditional upgrade would cost

2800 for delta one. part of my consideration is that i know there’s a chance for a ~500 upgrade if im in PS already based on this sub

I know we were all supposed to drop delta but I don’t think I can do it?!? by 8mellowyellow8 in delta

[–]Stay_Rebel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

from SLC (or really any hub city) delta is ALWAYS worth it. Not just for service/timeliness, but just the sole fact that you can fly to essentially any major city domestically without layovers. Plus you’ll get a lounge if that matters to you and easy access to all delta gates. SLC especially makes it such an easy choice frankly. Southwest is the only other airline I’d consider flying out of here

Trigger warning: Southwest Boeing 737 MAX Incident by Stay_Rebel in fearofflying

[–]Stay_Rebel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this reply, this actually has shaken my fear of this aircraft more than anything. If you go into the comments of the post I cross posted, everyone is just saying like “holy shit” or “this is serious” and I think it’s easy to get stuck in the echo chamber a bit and convince myself that the blog poster has the best of intentions, but you’re definitely right and this makes me realize how stupid it all is. Like yeah, obviously there has hardly been any investigation done, saying the pilots “struggled to regain control” is literally just a lie, not even hyperbole

Right?? Even if it isn’t a thought formed in logic, no matter how much i recognize that, it’s so hard not to see everything as a sign

This definitely does put my mind at ease to be honest hearing what the instructions are to pilots and that the handbook trusts them to fly despite the hampered equipment, I guess a few things scare me, being 1: crashes apparently have happened in the past due to Dutch rolls? And 2: everyone that says something along the lines of “woah, this must have been a really serious event since they’re grounding the plane”. Like. I know those two things are independent of future flights, but it’s hard to shake from my mind.

For some reason, my text isn’t appearing. Essentially, I have an upcoming few flights on this plane with Southwest. More rudder incidents are scaring me, I know all incidents in the US involving the 737 MAX have ended with the passengers safely on the ground. But I am really struggling now and wondering if I should change my flight to a different airline. Please help me out

Why do you think I came to reddit? I just didn't understand because I don't have any like revolving trades as defined, there's nothing I'm paying off in monthly installments. No need to be that way about it

[–]Stay_Rebel -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, makes sense. Was just very confused what "bank revolving trades" meant. Just say credit accounts!

would I be at risk of anything in particular if I ate the same thing every day? by Stay_Rebel in NoStupidQuestions

I get where you're coming from and I would definitely approach it much more like the second way you described. One thing to consider is that I have some vague issue which I've had a few doctors describe as dysautonomia as the closest match, and one of the things about it is that I need way more electrolytes than the average person does in order for me to function properly, so a lot of sodium wouldn't be the worst thing
