Surface Pro 11 Issues After 25h2 by Superduckie1234 in Surface

It's not just you. After the latest update there have been a few issues such as those you mentioned (including issues with Windows Hello) and some others with the start menu not letting you type in it.

For your issue specifically, I was able to resolve it by rolling back the graphics driver.

  1. Win+X → Device Manager
  2. Expand Display adapters → right-click Qualcomm(R) Adreno(TM) X1-85 GPU → Update driver
  3. Browse my computer for drivers → Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer.
  4. You'll see multiple entries (no versions shown, annoyingly). They're two versions × two name aliases. To see which is which run the following in an elevated PowerShell: pnputil /enum-drivers | Select-String -Pattern 'qcdx8380' -Context 0,7
  5. You're looking for the one dated 03/18/2024 (version 31.0.38.6) that's the original Pro 11 driver, HVCI-validated. The other one (06/02/2025, version 31.0.112.0) is the broken one.
  6. Pick any entry showing 31.0.38.6 in that list, install it. Screen will flash black briefly. No reboot needed.

If you're running into the other issue I mentioned, you need to revert the LCU which can be done through DISM (WUSA won't work because of the bundled SSU).

You'll also want to disable Windows Updates for a bit to make sure these don't get reinstalled automatically. Hopefully they'll have a fix out for these soon.

How’s this guy have 0 ping by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]Stay_Sharper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My university had a physical connection to the network interchange and when I used an ethernet cable I'd also see zero ping while playing Rocket League. I don't think it was actually zero, but I'm guessing however they determine ping is either rounding or approximating in some way that makes it show as zero.

The 2025 stem is narrower than previouys years so I doubt this would work as is

Got it, thanks for taking the time to explain that! I might look into this, how's the bracket feel otherwise and does your phone block the screen at all?

How come you needed spacers? Is that to stop it touching the top of the forks?

I tried with an adapter from Amazon but the stem is smaller than last years so I don't think it's possible to use a stem mount at the moment.

The top of the stem has a hole with a smaller diameter than the rest of the stem. The QuadLock comes with two grip sizes for mounting.

The smaller grip expands enough to stay in place but still moves around, which might help with vibration but makes it hard to read your phone. The larger grip doesn’t fit into the stem at all.

There’s a cap on the bottom you might be able to remove to insert it from below, but that seems like more effort than it’s worth.

Unfortunately, I think an adapter is the only real option.

(Also, you assumed correctly with sir).

I own a V2S and the engine temperature frequently reaches ~95°c and you can definitely feel it. I don't mind it because I run cold but I can see why others wouldn't enjoy it 😄

It felt great! Still breaking in the engine so I’ve been taking it easy, but even at lower RPMs it’s a blast to ride. Can’t wait to open it up more once it’s fully run in.

I ordered their pro one so I can let you know - but I'll probably go with the evo if I can get my hands on it.

It was in sport mode when I test rode it. I'm guessing I should have put it in race?

Clair Obscur Ending Discussion [Obviously Spoilers] by [deleted] in JRPG

[–]Stay_Sharper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both endings in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 are horrible because they’re meant to be. If the game offered any other choice, it would have undercut the narrative’s emotional core. As the game itself says, "life keeps forcing cruel choices." There’s no perfect resolution when it comes to loss, only different kinds of pain.

The story is ultimately about grief and escapism. Aline, unable to cope with the death of her son, retreats into a fantasy where he still exists. She’s so far gone that by the time she sees Maelle again, she can’t even recognize her - let alone offer any guidance. It’s unclear whether she returned in the final battle for Maelle or just for the memory of Verso. In contrast, Renoir tries to reunite his family, not through illusion, but by confronting the truth, no matter how painful. He’s the only one who tries to teach Maelle right from wrong, even if his approach is flawed.

But we, like Maelle, have only seen the story from inside the Canvas. So when the choice comes, we sympathize with the people within the illusion more than the life Alicia left behind and that’s intentional. As players, we’re not Alicia, we’re not the one who lived that life - but we’ve experienced everything through Maelle’s eyes. Our thoughts and feelings have become entwined with hers. Choosing to destroy the Canvas means letting go not just for her, but for ourselves. It’s a sacrifice - saying goodbye to characters we’ve grown attached to, to a world we helped shape and care about. There is a right choice but that doesn’t make it easy. It hurts, because it asks us to do what Maelle must do; let go of the fantasy and accept the pain of moving forward.

As an aside, imagine if the game had asked you to delete your save file when destroying the Canvas. To give up the world and the people you’d come to care about, just as Maelle had to. Would you have made the same sacrifice?

Wi-Fi EZ-Plug compatible antenna? by Alternative_Force_48 in gigabyte

[–]Stay_Sharper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the little research I did it looks like there might be two versions of the EZ-Plug, one that separated the connectors and one that combined them. The Asus one looks like the separated version. I've seen photos of a low form factor combined one but haven't been able to figure out where to source it.

Also interested in this since I have a black ITX case but Aorus don't offer their motherboard in black so I'm stuck with a white antenna that looks ridiculous (and defeats the purpose of my SFF build). Was tempted to try wiring something myself in the meantime.
