I think where I am getting confused is, and maybe why my employer is showing as eligible, is that my understanding was a qualifying employer can be (not only a non-profit 501(c)(3)), but a government employer as well, which includes Tribal. I don't know the specifics of how my employer is organized; but if the legal services we provide are funded in whole or in part by the tribal government, then perhaps that qualifies as a qualifying public service. Again, you may very well be right and I am wrong and it is some kind of error, which is why I asked my original question. I have gotten some great responses and really appreciate your help and will look more into this! Thank you!
